In February 1889 the Springer Amendment to the Indian Appropriations Bill authorized Pres. Benjamin Harrison to declare the Unassigned Lands as subject to opening.

On April 22, many attempted to enter the Oklahoma Lands on what soon became known as the Land Run of 1889.

On 1890, the Organic Act for the Territory of Oklahoma brought the territorial government into existence, with Guthrie as the territorial capital.

What was Gran Colombia? What hopes did Simon Bolivar have for this alliance?
Vitek1552 [10]

Answer:

Gran Colombia had a brief, vigorous existence during the war. Subsequent civilian and military rivalry for public office and regional jealousies led to a rebellion in Venezuela in 1826. After ruling as dictator from 1828 to 1830, Bolívar convoked a convention to frame a new constitution. It was recognized only in Nueva Granada (Colombia and Panama). Bolívar resigned and left for the northern coast, where he died, near Santa Marta, on December 17, 1830. By that time Venezuela and Ecuador had seceded from Gran Colombia. Thus Gran Colombia essentially passed into history with its principal architect.

What were the final decrees of the Council of Trent
pickupchik [31]
The Council of Trent which took place between 1545 and 1563 sought to settle certain doctrinal questions of the Catholic Church as well as to reign in certain practices that had been perceived as corrupt or wrong for the church. Ultimately the council was in response to the growth of protestantism and the Council of Trent denounced the growth of Protestantism as heresy and against the true teachings of the Catholic Church. There were also far reaching decrees that were passed in the areas of discipline and in the morals of the church to control the actions of its leaders and members.
