Answer:

The answer is the option C

graph of 3x minus 3, with discontinuity at negative 2, negative 9

Step-by-step explanation:

we have

f(x)=\frac{9x^{2}+9x-18}{3x+6}

Simplify

f(x)=9\frac{(x^{2}+x-2)}{3(x+2)}

f(x)=3\frac{(x^{2}+x-2)}{(x+2)}

Step 1

Convert to a factored form the numerator

x^{2}+x-2=0

Group terms that contain the same variable, and move the constant to the opposite side of the equation

x^{2}+x=2

Complete the square. Remember to balance the equation by adding the same constants to each side.

x^{2}+x+0.25=2+0.25

x^{2}+x+0.25=2.25

Rewrite as perfect squares

(x+0.5)^{2}=2.25

Square root both sides

x+0.5=(+/-)1.5

x=-0.5(+/-)1.5

x=-0.5+1.5=1

x=-0.5-1.5=-2

so

x^{2}+x-2=(x-1)(x+2)

Step 2

Simplify the function f(x)

f(x)=3\frac{(x^{2}+x-2)}{(x+2)}=3\frac{(x-1)(x+2)}{(x+2)}

The domain of the function f(x) is all real numbers except the number x=-2

Because the denominator can not be zero

f(x)=3\frac{(x-1)(x+2)}{(x+2)}=3(x-1)=3x-3

f(x)=3x-3  ------> with a discontinuity at x=-2

f(-2)=3(-2)-3=-9

The discontinuity is at point (-2,-9)

Hello,

y=(9x²+9x-18)/(3x+6)=(9(x-1)(x+2))/(3(x+2))
If x≠-2 then y=3(x-1)==>y=3x-3
So we must exclude (-2,-9)

<u>Answer-</u>

The standard error of the confidence interval is 0.63%

<u>Solution-</u>

Given,

n = 2373 (sample size)

x = 255 (number of people who bought)

The mean of the sample M will be,

M=\frac{x}{n} =\frac{255}{2373} =0.1075

Then the standard error SE will be,

SE=\sqrt{\frac{M\times (1-M)}{n}}

SE=\sqrt{\frac{0.1075\times (1-0.1075)}{2373}}=\sqrt{\frac{0.0959}{2373}}=0.0063=0.63\%

Therefore, the standard error of the confidence interval is 0.63%

Ed is 7 years older than Ted. Ed’s age is also 3/4 times Ted’s age. How old are Ed and Ted?
svetlana [45]
Let Ted be x.

Ed is 7 years older =  x  + 7

Ed = (3/4)Ted

(x + 7) = (3/4)x

x + 7 = 3x/4

x - 3x/4 = -7

x/4 = -7

x = -28,           Ted = -28 years.

(x + 7) = -28 + 7 = -21,      Ed = -21 years

Goodness. We had negative numbers for the ages, well does that make sense?  No it doesn't.

Our answer is correct. But the sense in the question is lacking. The question has been wrongly set.

<span>We might assume negative ages to mean before they came into the world, before birth! </span>

Answer:

They are dependent because we have to select from people who are given cards.

Step By Step Explanation:

So we'll take away people not given cards first den find the probability of selecting people with cards over the total number of people present .

Probability we'll be equal to = number of people with card(C) two persons/total number of people

Two hockey teams, the Winnipeg Jets (yay!) and the Toronto Maple Leafs (boo!), miraculously make it to
monitta

Answer:

There is a 54% chance that the Jets will win the Stanley Cup.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since two hockey teams, the Winnipeg Jets and the Toronto Maple Leafs, miraculously make it to the Stanley Cup finals, where as soon as a team wins 3 games, the championship is over, and the schedule for the playoffs for home games is: Jets - Leafs - Jets - Leafs - Jets; since if the Jets are playing at home, there is a 60% chance they'll win, while if they are playing on the road, there is a 45% chance they'll win, to find the probability that the Jets win the Stanley Cup the following calculation must be performed:

(0.60 + 0.45 + 0.60 + 0.45 + 0.60) / 5 = X

2.70 / 5 = X

0.54 = X

Thus, there is a 54% chance that the Jets will win the Stanley Cup.
