Even as Gandhi was working for Balasumdaram, the South Africans passed a new law designed to make life difficult for Indians. If
an indentured worker chose to stay past his or her contract and settle, the worker was slapped with an annual tax, which was a heavy burden for Indians, who barely survived on their wages. The message was clear: You were brought to Natal only as a guest worker; you have no right to stay. Today in the United States we allow Mexicans and people from Central America to milk cows and to pick tomatoes, strawberries, grapes, and other crops, but Congress has been deadlocked over the rules for allowing them to become residents or citizens. Just like the whites in Natal, we want the cheap labor but are reluctant to offer those same workers and their children a home in our country. –Sugar Changed the World,

Explanation:
In this passage, there is a parallel between two nations that are working in foreign countries. Even the sitautions are located and date at different times and countries, there are similarites between them. The hard position of Indians in South Africa impilicates the position of Mexican in the United States.
The primary purpose in this passage is that to inform readers that these two situations are the problem that is not solved and its form is transferred into modern time of history. The problem of work in a foreign country and taxes replicated how the United States treats Mexican as labor.
My opinion/answer: I think that you shouldn’t date older woman because it can lead to other things, plus it also depends how old are they like for example, (16 and 27) that is too old for me in my own opinions.
The main difference is that you can use the Second Conditional to describe a result that can happen although it is unlikely that it will, while you use the Third Conditional to describe a situation that could have happened in the past had a condition been met.
The tone or attitude that this idom (Juan is "caught ... with his guard down,") creates for the character or audience is the one of "disappointment."
It was expected of Juan to always be at alert but he failed hence the reason why the incident happened.
