In his argument in favor of starting classes later in the morning, João is addressing the counterclaim that classes should not s

tart later because doing so would limit students' opportunity to participate in school sports and clubs. Although starting classes later might well make it impossible for students to spend as many hours on after-school sports, getting more sleep would ensure that they got more out of the time they did spend on those activities. With more sleep, their sporting performance would actually improve. Which evidence would best support João's rebuttal? Select three options. Sleep deprivation harms memory. Overtired teens are more prone to accidents. Researchers do not know why human beings need to sleep. Sleep deprivation has been used as an interrogation technique. Teens dealing from sleep deprivation lose the ability to focus.

Sleep deprivation harms memory. Overtired teens are more prone to accidents. Teens dealing from sleep deprivation lose the ability to focus.

These three options would be support Joao's rebuttal because they show how harmful sleep deprivation can be. Joao needs to show that starting classes later will allow students to get more sleep and therefore not succumb to the harmful effects of sleep deprivation. The other options do not support his rebuttal because they are not relevant to students AND sleep. In fact, saying that researchers do not know why human beings need to sleep goes against his rebuttal because it sounds like humans don't need as much sleep.

Read the excerpt from "As Good as Gold."
Wittaler [7]

There are five elements of a plot: Exposition, conflict, raising action, climax, falling action and Resolution. From these elements, the one that approaches best to that excerpt is Resolution. The word "finally" can be a signal word that denotes the ending part and Resolution means that the conflict has been solved and indicates the ending, which it really makes sense, since after all the things happened in Jake's life, at the end "I expect we'll need three servings of bacon today" refering maybe to a happy ending.
