Predict: Of the molecules shown on the CHEMICALS pane, which do you think are reactants (ingredients) in photosynthesis? Which d

o you think are products?
Reactants: ___________________________ Products: ___________________________

Explore: Drag each molecule from the CHEMICALS pane to the chloroplast on the PHOTOSYNTHESIS pane. If a molecule is a reactant, it will stay in the chloroplast.

Which molecules are reactants in photosynthesis? _________________________________

Observe: Click Add light and look at the Output. What are the products of photosynthesis?

_________________________________________________________________________

Summarize: A chemical equation shows reactants on the left side of an arrow, and products on the right, like this: reactant + reactant ( product + product.

Answer:

Which molecules are reactants in photosynthesis?

Reactants: light energy, carbon dioxide and water

What are the products of photosynthesis?

Products:

Oxygen that is released into the atmosphere.

Glucose that is used by the plant as energy and to make other molecules such as starches and sucrose

If a molecule is a reactant, it will stay in the chloroplast, the reactants are light energy, carbon dioxide and water.

The products of photosynthesis also are ATP and NADPH

Based on your observations, what is the chemical equation for photosynthesis?

solar energy + 6 CO2 + 6 H20 --------] C6H12O6 + 6O2

CO2: carbon dioxide

H20: Water

C6H12O6: Glucose

O2: Oxígen

A biologist marked 200 mice, by putting leg bands on them, out of a forest containing an unknown number of mice. The marked mice
Fofino [41]

Answer: The estimated population is 1250 mice

Explanation: The method use was marked and recapture, in which individuals are marked in the first capture and after some time biologist trap a new group of individuals that can be or not marked

Whit this data is possible to estimate the size of a population applying the Peterson method but is important to make some considerations such as:

1. All indivuals have the same probability to be capture

2, The population remain constant in terms of birth and death rate.

Taking this into account, the formula that allows to determine the size of the population is:

N=CM / R

where N is the size of the population, C is number of indivuals trapped in recapture, M is number of individuals marked in the first capture and R is the number of marked animals trapped in recapture

In this case:

N = 250 * 200 / 40 = 1250

The r group of an amino acid would need to have what characteristic to be located in a cell membrane?
11Alexandr11 [23.1K]

The R group should have the ability to form hydrogen bonds.

The R-group take a lot of different chemical forms and can be acidic, basic, polar or non polar. Amino acids that are either acidic or basic consequently have either positive or negative charge. These types of R-groups are stabilized when surrounded by water.
