If all terrestrial autotrophs were removed from the planet, how would this alter the rate of carbon cycling on Earth? The rate o

f carbon cycling would increase because marine primary producers would be able to use all the sunlight and not have to compete with terrestrial plants for light. The rate of carbon cycling would remain the same because microorganisms would liberate carbon faster into the atmosphere. The rate of carbon cycling would increase because the link between primary consumers and primary producers would be eliminated. The rate of carbon cycling would decrease because terrestrial animals cannot exist without primary producers.

If on this earth there are no autotrophic organisms (which can make their own food) there will be an imbalance of the food chain because the level 1 consumer in the food chain (who eat autotrophic organisms) will lack food so the population decreases, so if the consumer population 1 decreases it will automatically consumer population 2 will also decrease, and so on.

<h2>Further explanation </h2>

Autotrophic organisms are organisms that can convert inorganic materials into organic (can make their own food) with the help of energy such as sunlight and chemical energy.

<h3>Autotrophic organisms can be divided into two types. </h3>
  • Photoautotrophs are organisms that can use light energy sources to convert inorganic material into organic matter.
  • Chemoautotrophs are organisms that can utilize energy from chemical reactions to make their own food from organic matter.

The food chain is the transfer of food energy from plant sources through a series of organisms or through the food chain. There are two basic types of food chains, namely the grass food chain and the leftovers food chain.

The grass food chain, for example, consists of plants - herbivores - carnivores - omnivores. The leftover food chain consists of dead microorganisms (detritivores - predators and scavengers)

Which of the following would be a result of eutrophication of a lake? undergrowth of water plants hypoxia, or low levels of oxyg
Travka [436]

Answer:

Undergrowth of water plants hypoxia

Low levels of oxygen.

Explanation:

Eutrophication occur when lake or river has adequate nutrients that will encourage the growth of water plants i.e algae which lead to the depletion of dissolved oxygen in the lake. The growth of algae is increased due to availability of carbondioxide or phosphorus or nutrients required for photosynthesis. This result in tainted drinking water, hypoxia and degradation of recreational activities.

Streptomycin is an effective antibiotic because _____________.
Slav-nsk [51]

Answer: Option C.

Both

Explanation:

Streptomycin is an antibiotics produced from bacteria and fungi and it is used to treat bacteria infections (prokaryotic ) such as tuberculosis, mycobacterium infection e.t.c.

It's inhibit protein function in prokaryotes because it's affects the function and performance of 70 s RIBOSOMES which is an organelles for protein production.

Streptomycin does not affect eukaryotes because it does not bind to the RIBOSOMES of eukaryotic cells which in turn does not affect protein production.

11. Using the diagram to the left,if line n bisects QR find QP
trapecia [35]

Answer:

QP = 41

Explanation:

Its geometry its easy...

Since its getting cut through the middle that means they equal each other

3x + 5 = 5x - 19 (Use a calculator)

x = 12

Since your solving to find QP you plug it into QP

3(12) + 5 = 41

It is often stated that the phosphate bonds in atp are "high energy," but in fact, they are not notably high in energy. rather,
Vera_Pavlovna [14]

The answer is Negative charges on phosphate groups repel each other. The oxygen groups of a phosphoanhydride in ATP have electron cloud that repels each other. On hydrolysis, once a phosphate is lost, the electrostatic repulsion is reduced.

When ATP is hydrolyzed, it forms more hydrogen bonds with surrounding water molecules that when ATP is unhydrolyzed. Therefore, more energy is released since more bonds are formed than are broken. The net delta G is positive during hydrolysis of ATP.
