Answer:

A stroke is a loss of blood flow to a certain part of the brain. The resulting damage depends on the location and extensiveness of the stroke. A stroke to the left side of the brain will affect cognitive, motor and sensory areas. Language, thinking, behavior and physical movement can be impaired. Stroke is the third most common cause of death and is the main cause of disability among adults.

For most people, the primary language center is located on the left side of the brain. The American Stroke Association explains that a stroke in this area can cause either temporary or permanent impaired language ability. Not only can a person’s speech ability be affected, but the ability to read and write as well. Aphasia, the inability to use or comprehend language, agraphia, difficulty with writing words, and alexia, difficulty with reading, are all possible effects of a left-sided stroke.

Is the number of Chromosomes in a body cell a good predictor of organisms complexity? How do you know?
alina1380 [7]

Answer:

The number of chromosomes does not correlate with the apparent complexity of an animal or a plant: in humans, for example, the diploid number is 2n = 46 (that is, 23 pairs), compared with 2n = 78, or 39 pairs, in the dog and 2n = 36 (18) in the common earthworm. There is an equally great range of numbers among plants.

A woman who is 28 weeks pregnant has occasional shortness of breath and may have trouble sleeping. What is most likely happening
charle [14.2K]

The right answer is C

At 28 weeks of pregnancy, the baby could finally open his eyes. If a bright light is placed near the abdomen, the baby may open his eyes and turn his eyes away from the light.

The brain waves of the baby indicate that it responds to the sounds in the environment. Variations in his brain waves also appear during his sleep. These sleep cycles will become clearer and more distinct as the date of delivery approaches.

This stage of pregnancy is essential for the development of the baby's lungs.

Elden [556K]

Answer:

S$1,170

Explanation:

We are told in the question that Sheldon has a traditional health insurance plan.

We are told the he also incurred a bill of $1,500 and he has a $200

deductible.

The cost Sheldon hospital bills would be:

$1,500 - $200 = $1,300

We are told that the level of co-insurance for his plan is 90/10, where 10 represents Sheldon’s portion.

This means Sheldon portion is

10% of $1,300 = $130

The insurance company would be paying

$1,300 - $130 = $1,170
