Puritan literature was quite prominent in the 17th century, with writers mostly focusing on God and religion in their works, as well as what was right and wrong.

Of Plymouth Plantation was written by William Bradford, the leader of the Plymouth Colony in Massachusetts. It is considered as the most authoritative account of the Pilgrims and the early years of the colony which they founded.
