The present day organisms use oxygen for process of respiration. There are very few organisms which require source other than oxygen. The first organisms which make oxygen from photosynthesis were cyanobacteria.
The formation of abiotic molecules like nucleotides and amino acids were responsible for origin of life. These molecules arranged together, thus forming large molecules like nucleic acid and proteins.
