Answer:

(a) Indicating power(IP)=6000 KW

(b)   \eta_{mech}=0.833

(c) Consumption of air per hour =46000 kg/hr

(d) \eta_{BPth}=0.1865

Explanation:

Break power(BP) =5000 KW

Friction power(FP)=1000 KW

Consumption of fuel per hour=2300 kg/hr

CV=42000 KJ/kg

We know that

Indicating power(IP)=Break power(BP)+Friction power(FP)

⇒IP=5000+1000 KW

  IP=6000 KW

(a)

Indicating power(IP)=6000 KW

(b)

Mechanical efficiency  \eta_{mech}=\dfrac{BP}{IP}

 \eta_{mech}=\dfrac{5000}{6000}

  \eta_{mech}=0.833

(c)

Air fuel ratio=\dfrac{mass \ of \ air}{mass \ of \ fuel}

consumption of air per hour=20\times2300 kg/hr

So consumption of air per hour =46000 kg/hr

(d)

Break thermal efficiency  \eta_{BPth}=\dfrac{IP}{\dot{m_f}\times CV}

\dot{m_f}=\dfrac{2300}{3600}

                      =0.638 kg/s

\eta_{BPth}=\dfrac{5000}{{0.638}\times 42000}

\eta_{BPth}=0.1865

Ivan

Answer:

Realistic Group Conflict Theory

Explanation:

Realistic Group Conflict theory is a socio-psychological model of internal conflicts among groups.

These groups may compete for a scarce resources based on reality or perception.

These conflicts may be over political power, capital, or social status, etc.

According to this theory, in the competition, only one group wins over the scarce resources while the other has to lose.

Thus The reality show on the television showing two tribes competing for food and shelter where the success of one is the failure for the other is based on Realistic Group Conflict Theory.

A 150-lbm astronaut took his bathroom scale (a spring scale) and a beam scale (compares masses) to the moon where the local grav
kozerog [31]

Answer:

a)Wt =25.68 lbf

b)Wt = 150 lbf

F= 899.59 N

Explanation:

Given that

g = 5.48 ft/s^2.

m= 150 lbm

a)

Weight on the spring scale(Wt) = m g

We know that

1\ lbf=32.17 \ lmb.ft/s^2

Wt = 150 x 5.48/32 lbf

Wt =25.68 lbf

b)

On the beam scale

This is scale which does not affects by gravitational acceleration.So the wight on the beam scale will be 150 lbf.

Wt = 150 lbf

If the plane is moving upward with acceleration 6 g's then the for F

F = m a

We know that

1\ ft/s^2= 0.304\ m/s^2

5.48\ ft/s^2= 1.66\ m/s^2

a=6 g's

a=9.99\ m/s^2

So

F = 90 x 9.99 N

F= 899.59 N

All of these are true about GMA (MIG) welding EXCEPT that:
Hatshy [7]

Answer:

the welding gun liner regulates the shielding gas.

Explanation:

The purpose of the welding gun liner is to properly position the welding wire from the wire feeder till it gets to the nozzle or contact tip of the gun. <em>Regulation of the shielding gas depends on factors such as the speed, current, and type of gas being used. </em>In gas metal arc welding, an electric arc is used to generate heat which melts both the electrode and the workpiece or base metal.

The electric arc produced is shielded from contamination by the shielding gas. The heat generated by the short electric arc is low.
