8 0

Answer:

The answer to your question is: 12.66 units

Step-by-step explanation:

Data

A(-5,4)

B(0,3)

F(-2,1)

Formula

d = √((x2 - x1)² + (y2 . y1)²)

Process

dAB = √((x2 - x1)² + (y2 . y1)²)

dAB = √((0 +5)² + (3 - 4)²)

dAB = √((25) + (-))

d = √26

dAF = √((-2 + 5)² + (1 -4)²)

dAF = √((3)² + (-3)²)

dAF = √18

dBF = √((-2 - 0)² + (1 - 4)²)

dBF = √((-2)² + (-3)²)

dBF = √((4  + 9)

dBF = √11

Perimeter = √26 + √18 + √11

                = 5.10 + 4.24 + 3.32

                = 12.66 units

Explain why the vertical line test is used to determine if a graph represents a function.
Aleksandr [31]
Hi there Mary Dominguez, So what a vertical line test down is to find out if a particular graph is a function or not. What you do is take a vertical strait line and move it right to left or left to right, depending on your preference, along the X axis. The reason this works is a function can not have an x that has 2 different y values. If we use the vertical line test on a graph with say a graph that has (2,3) and (2,4) we can use the vertical line test and see that the line hits 2 points at once which means its not a function :)

What is the sum of the polynomials (m+n+3)(m+n+4)
poizon [28]
(m + n + 3)(m + n + 4)
First distribute the m in the first set of parentheses to the second set of parentheses.  Do the same process with the n and the 3.
m^2 + mn + 4m + mn + n^2 + 4n + 3m +3n + 12
Combine Like terms. Final Answer:

Based on the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra, how many complex roots does each of the following equations have? Write your answer
mars1129 [50]

Answer:

2, 2, 4, 6, 4

Step-by-step explanation:

Fundamental Theorem of Algebra states that 'An 'n' degree polynomial will have n number of real roots'.

1. The polynomial is given by x(x^2-4)(x^2+16) = 0

So, on simplifying we get that, x(x+2)(x-2)(x^2+16)=0.

Since, degree of polynomial is 5, it will have 5 roots.

This gives us that the roots of the equation are x = 0, -2, 2, 4i and -4i

So, the number of complex roots are 2.

2. The polynomial is given by (x^2+4)(x+5)^2 = 0

Since, degree of polynomial is 4, it will have 4 roots.

Equating them both by zero, (x^2+4)= 0 and  (x+5)^2=0 gives that the roots of the polynomial are x = 2i, -2i, -5, -5.

So, the number of complex roots are 2.

3. The polynomial is given by x^6-4x^5-24x^2+10x-3=0

Since, degree of polynomial is 6, it will have 6 roots.

On simplifying, we get that the real roots of the polynomial are x = -1.75 and x = 4.28.

So, the number of complex roots are 6-2 = 4.

4. The polynomial is given by x^7+128=0

Since, degree of polynomial is 7, it will have 7 roots.

On simplifying, we get that the only real root of the polynomial is x = -2.

So, the number of complex roots are 7-1 = 6.

5. The polynomial is given by (x^3+9)(x^2-4)=0

Since, degree of polynomial is 5, it will have 5 roots.

Simplifying the equation gives (x+2)(x-2)(x+\sqrt[3]{9})(x^2-\sqrt[3]{9x}+9^{\frac{2}{3}})=0

Equating each to 0, we get the real roots of the polynomial is x=-3^{\frac{2}{3}}

So, the number of complex roots are 5-1 = 4

An expression is well-defined if you can compute its value without any illegal operations. examples of expressions that are not
Gelneren [198K]
The given <span>expression is \frac{\sqrt{x + 1} + \sqrt{1 - x}}{\sqrt{x}}
</span>
So, we have 3 square roots.
The number under a square root sign must be Non negative.
Beside that the denominator must be not equal zero.
For the term ⇒⇒⇒ \sqrt{x}
∴ x > 0 ⇒⇒⇒ x ∈ (0,∞)
For the term ⇒⇒⇒ \sqrt{x+1}
∴x+1 ≥ 0 ⇒⇒⇒ x ≥ -1 ⇒⇒⇒ ∴ x ∈ [-1,∞)
For the term ⇒⇒⇒ \sqrt{1-x}
∴ 1-x ≥ 0 ⇒⇒⇒ x ≤ 1 ⇒⇒⇒ x ∈ (-∞,1]

So, The values of x which make the <span>expression well defined
