Answer:

The novel Frankenstein is greatly influenced by the tale of Prometheus.

Explanation:

The full name of the book is <em>Frankenstein</em> or the <em>Modern Prometheus. </em>In Greek mythology, Prometheus is credited with the creation of humanity from clay, and stealing the God´s fire to give to humanity knowledge and enlightenment. He then was eternally condemned by Zeus, being bounded to a rock and having an eagle come every day to eat his liver, which would grow back overnight. In later western cultures, Prometheus became a figure that represented human striving, the quest for scientific knowledge, and the risk of unintended consequences. Victor Frankenstein, like Prometheus, wants to be a creator and hold the power of the Gods, by assembling a body from various corpses and trying to give it life, using the power of electricity (representation of Zeus). He then is tortured by his own creation for the rest of his days, like Prometheus. The gift of creating life comes along with the curse of the monster, whom Victor could not bare, and then goes on a killing spree for not being accepted. The killing spree of Frankenstein´s monster would be a representation of Pandora, who was sent by Zeus to release all the evils of humanity after Prometheus gifted them with the God´s fire.

Why does the poet believe that "Whole libraries that no one/got around to writing" is "More disturbing than book ashes?"
Drupady [299]
In the poem, Burning a Book, by William Stafford, is a poem describing a burning book, and then going to more dept of what it means. In the poem Stafford says, "More disturbing than book ashes are whole libraries that no one got around to writing." The meaning of this is that burning books is not as terrible as not writing them at all. Stafford is trying to say that if you have an idea for a book and you do not write the book, or start it, but never finish, then that is worse then burning a book that's already written. He also says , "If a book isn't written, no one needs to burn it---- ignorance can dance in the absence of fire." This is meaning that if you do not write book then it can not be burned, so instead of fire burning it, the lack of knowledge is burning the unwritten book. Do you agree with Stafford?

Using logos you are trying to persuade your brother to stop eating chocolate.
ziro4ka [17]

Answer:  Honestly I think that you should stop eating chocolate because its bad for your health. According to the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, chocolate decreases esophageal sphincter pressure, a change that can make you vulnerable to heartburn. Therefore, you should stop eating chocolate because it can cause heartburn and other related heart problems.

Explanation : Logos involves the use of statistics and factual evidence. Therefore, telling your brother that an organization has facts stating why eating chocolate is bad its a good way to persuade anyone to stop eating a certain food. Especially because it uses concrete evidence

Which statement best paraphrases Jane Austen’s advice in these lines from “On Making an Agreeable Marriage”?
polet [3.4K]
<span>"Don’t keep seeing him if you don’t like him, because nothing would be worse than a loveless marriage. Marrying someone you don’t really like will make you more committed to marriage. It’s better to marry him than to endure dating him without really liking him. It’s better to commit to marriage with a man you can endure than with one you really like. "</span>
