Kawai Corporation, which makes and sells 85,000 radios annually, currently purchases the radio speakers it uses for $8.00 each.

Each radio uses one speaker. The company has idle capacity and is considering the possibility of making the speakers that it needs. Kawai estimates that the cost of materials and labor needed to make speakers would be a total of $6.50 for each speaker. In addition, supervisory salaries, rent, and other manufacturing costs would be $170,000. Allocated facility-level costs would be $75,000. Required Determine the change in net income Kawai would experience if it decides to make the speakers.

Answer:

Effect on income= $-117,500

Explanation:

Giving the following information:

Kawai Corporation, which makes and sells 85,000 radios annually, currently purchases the radio speakers it uses for $8.00 each.

Kawai estimates that the cost of materials and labor needed to make speakers would be a total of $6.50 for each speaker. Also, supervisory salaries, rent, and other manufacturing costs would be $170,000. Allocated facility-level costs would be $75,000.

Buy= 85000*8= $680,000

In house:

Production costs= 6.5*85,000 + 75,000= 627,500

Other fixed costs= 170,000

Total cost= $797,500

Effect on income= 680,000 - 797,500= $-117,500

How can inequality or discrimination hurt an economy's ability to maximize its human capital?
inessss [21]
Well, if people are discriminated against and feel they are not equal to some other classes in their own society, they obviously will not be happy which will have an impact on their jobs and careers. If they are not happy, they will not give their full potential at their jobs, which will ultimately lead to less and less income for the company.
That's what I think, at least. :)

ELEN [110]

Answer:

The correct answer is $60,000.

Explanation:

According to the scenario, the given data are as follows:

Expenditure for Jan.1 = $334,000

Time period ( Jan.1 - Dec.31 ) = 12 months

So, average expenditure = $334,000

Similarly, Expenditure for Sep.1 = $498,000

Time period ( Sep.1 - Dec.31 ) = 4 months

So, average expenditure = $498,000 × 4÷12 = $166,000

Now, Expenditure for Dec.31 = $498,000

Time period ( Dec.31 - Dec.31 ) = 0 months

So, average expenditure = $498,000 × 0÷ 12 = 0

So, capitalized interest = ( average expenditure Jan.1 + average expenditure Sep.1 + average expenditure Dec.31) × 12%

= ($334,000 + $166,000 + $0) × 12%

= $500,000 × 12%

= $60,000

Jesse and Francis hear some friends talking about how much money they earn using Airbnb to rent out their room on weekends when
Kitty [74]

Answer and explanation:

Rental agreements are legal documents where the landlord or owner of the property establishes to whom, what, when, and for how much a property or part of it will be leased. The landlord becomes responsible for granting conditions that allow the regular and peaceful living of the tenants within the property and the tenant becomes responsible for damages caused to the property and for the payment of rent on a regular basis established in the agreement.

In Jesse and Francis's case, they hear their friends are renting their room on the weekends using an online house rental service. Under the rental agreement that would not be allowable since Jesse and Francis's friends would be leasing a property that does not belong to them. They cannot become landlords being only tenants. The real owner of the room can even evict the tenant for breaching the contract.

LiRa [457]

Answer:

A. make Spiros responsible for sourcing wall hangings and window treatments only

Explanation:

Process loss can be said to be an action or deficiency in performance by an individual that prevents a team or group from reaching its potential or achieving its goal within a stipulated time.

The two main factors that contribute to process loss are:

i) Coordination loss: Here, there is too much wait time among all members of the group. Members must coordinate their individual tasks and that of other group members. Too much time is lost here because individuals efficiency differs.

ii) Motivational loss: This happens when individuals of a grouo fail to work as hard as they should. Some individuals may tend to put lesser efforts than their team members, and this leads to loss of team effectiveness in the given task and it affects the results of the group.

Here, Spiro's problem is related to motivational loss, as his efforts do not match that of his teammates'.

There are steps used in addressing process loss.

The best way for Marsha to address spiros' behavior is to make Spiros's task more discrete and identifiable, this involves making Spiro solo responsible for sourcing wall hangings and window treatments only. This will ensure Spiro does not depend on other teammates and he has a solo responsibility which he must fulfill.

Waunakee Metals expects sales for the year to be 100,000 units, with quarterly sales of 20%, 25%, 30%, and 25%, respectively. Th
Oliga [24]

Answer:

$394,500

Explanation:

expected quarterly sales of:

  • first quarter 20,000 units
  • second quarter 25,000 units
  • third quarter 30,000 units
  • fourth quarter 25,000 units

sales price $40 per unit

ending inventory of finished units = 20% of next quarter's sales volume

each unit requires 3 kgs of direct materials that cost $5 each kg

production needs for quarter 2 = quarter sales + ending inventory of finished units - beginning inventory of finished units = 25,000 units + (30,000 units x 20%) - (25,000 units x 20%) = 25,000 + 6,000 - 5,000 = 26,000 units

production needs for quarter 3 = 30,000 units + (25,000 units x 20%) - (30,000 units x 20%) = 30,000 + 5,000 - 6,000 = 29,000 units

         Materials Budget for Quarter 2

Units to be produced 26,000

Direct materials per unit 3

Total direct materials needed

for production 78,000

Ending direct materials 8,700

(29,000 x 3 x 10%)

- Beginning direct materials (7,800)

(26,000 x 3 x 10%)

direct materials purchases 78,900

cost per kg $5

cost of direct materials purchases $394,500
