Li need 3 more pieces of string

<u>Solution:</u>

Given, Li needs 15 pieces of string each \frac{1}{2} of a inch long.

She cut a 6-inch piece of string into pieces that are each \frac{1}{2} of an inch long.

Now, let us find how many pieces she got from 6 inch string.

\text { Number of pieces }=\frac{\text { length of string available }}{\text { length of each string }}

=\frac{6}{\frac{1}{2}}=6 \times \frac{2}{1}=6 \times 2=12

Then, she will get 12 pieces from 6 inch string.

Number of pieces she need more = total number of pieces she need – available pieces

= 15 – 12 = 3

Hence, she need 3 more pieces.

You jog 6/23 miles around a track each day. If you jogged that distance 4 times last week, how many miles did you jog?
LenaWriter [7]
Well, since you jogged 6/23 mi. a day, for 4 days, it'll be (6/23)×4. This is 24/23 which is one mile and 1/24 of one.

Amanda [17]

Answer:

x=44.5ft

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that:

Height h=42ft

Angle of depression \theta=27\textdegree

Angle of Elevation \alpha=23 \textdegree

Generally the equation for the vertical distance between Emery's distance x and the bottom of the building  is mathematically given by

Since the angle of depression and elevation are given as

27 and 23 respectively

Therefore

Emery's view of the 42 ft building is

\gamma=23+27

\gamma=50  \textdegree

Therefore Emery's distance x to the base of the building h' is

h'=\frac{27}{50}*42

h'=22.68ft

Generally the Trigonometric equation for Emery's distance x is mathematically given by

x=\frac{h'}{tan\theta}

x=\frac{22.68}{tan 27}

x=44.5ft
