I'd say 1. I think that it refers to his neighbor and himself being completely different. Pine and apple are very different, although I'm fairly certain you've already come to that conclusion by now. Sorry I didn't see it earlier

The correct answer is <em>"He is all pine and I am apple orchard"</em>.

The "Mending Wall" is a poem by Robert Frost which tells the story of 2 neighbors which are separated by a wall. According to the speaker in the poem, he thinks there is no such need for a wall as none of them possesses animals that could cross over and produce any problems to the other. However, he does notice certain differences between both properties which leads him to think both have different lifestyles. nevertheless, both neighbors gather every year in order to give maintenance to the wall claiming that "Good fences make good neighbors."

Read the following passage.
Gennadij [26K]

Answer:

D

Explanation:

Let's reread the question.

"Based on the passage, what can you infer about the character Mei?"

Since the question is asking you to infer about Mei's character, when reading the passage, pay attention to Mei's attitude, how she acts, and key words used to describe her.

Based on the Mei's actions, such as boasting "We did it!" repeatedly, and getting up to walk around the kitchen, we can infer that she was excited and happy. So we can scratch out B, since nothing in the passage should lead us to thinking Mei is timid.

At the end of the passage, it says "Her brother laughed, surprised and amused. 'Who are you, and what have you done with my sister, Mei?'"

By using the key words "surprised" and "amused", we can infer that Mei does not usually act this outgoing and loud. If she did, there wouldn't be any need to be surprised because that would be her normal character. So we can scratch out A, since Mei's brothers attitude shows that this isn't Mei's usual behavior.

Now, the last two answers are C, "Mei is not very athletic." or D, "Mei is not usually so boastful and energetic." The answer should be more obvious now.

Like B, nothing in the passage should lead us to thinking Mei isn't very athletic, so we can scratch out C.

And now, the only answer we have left is D! Hope this helped! :)

How does Shakespeare use foreshadowing and imagery to highlight the theme of predestination and emphasize the coming deaths of R
Assoli18 [71]
<span>Death being discussed in this play is foreshadowing. The author is hinting that Romeo and Juliet will die or at least that someone will die. Foreshadowing is a good way to give your audience a hint about what is to come so they will feel suspense and will try to see what will happen next.</span>
