Even if it doesn’t look like it, all living things constantly interact with their environment. For instance, every time you take a breath, you get oxygen from the air, and every time you breathe back out, you release carbon dioxide into the world around you. Both oxygen and carbon dioxide are vital gases that different organisms can use. You, a human, need the oxygen for energy and need to get rid of the carbon dioxide, because it’s a waste matter. Just like us, all other organisms take something from their environment while putting waste back into it. When several kinds of organisms interact with each other in one particular area, it’s called an ecosystem. In the forest, living beings (plants, animals, insects, fungi and bacteria) all interact with each other and with the soil and water to form the forest’s specific kind of ecosystem. So, how does it work? Every organism in the forest can be put in one of three categories. Depending on which category they’re in, they’ll interact with each other and the forest’s resources in a different way. The categories are producer, decomposer and consumer. Let’s look at each one. Producers are living things that can make their own energy out of non‐living resources all around them like, oxygen and water. They’re also known as autotrophs. Autotrophs do not need to kill anything in order to eat. Plants and algae, for example, are producers. In the forest’s ecosystem, the trees, shrubs and moss are all producers. They turn water and sunlight into the energy they need to live and grow, through a process called photosynthesis. And remember that carbon dioxide you expelled as waste matter? Well, for plants, carbon dioxide is a vital gas. It is used to help aid with the process of photosynthesis.

Answer:

The idea unsupported by the author's main arguments about Benjamin Franklin's accomplishments is Benjamin Franklin's Fascination with Electricity adapted from the National Park Service paved the way for theories about electricity.

Explanation:

The Statement that Benjamin Franklin was fascinated by electricity and gave a lot of his time after he retired study its properties is true because he started studying the properties of electricity in 1746 and devoted more time to it after retiring in 1788. He conducted his famous kite experiment in June 1752. Also, the statement that he never patented any of his inventions is also true and is supported by authors arguments. Franklin's influence in the early history of the United States has led people to call him "the only President of the United States who was never President of the United States". He is largely self educated because though he attended the school he did not graduate, but continued his education through voracious reading.

Read the sentence from the draft.
Kisachek [45]

Answer:

A). Another argument parents often make is that children spend too much time on social media.

Explanation:

Wordiness is characterized as the grammatical error in which the writer employs too many words. This clutters the meaning of the sentence and affects its clarity and impact that it is supposed to create. It misleads the reader and confuses them.

As per the question, the first option most aptly removes the wordiness of the given sentence and conveys the key idea of the actual paragraph more clearly and specifically. Thus, the writer must use a precise vocabulary that helps in conveying the intended idea in a simple, clear, and direct manner that is easy to be understood. Hence, option A is the correct answer.

Read this passage from chapter 22 of The Prince. But to enable a prince to form an opinion of his servant there is one test whic
Dominik [7]

Answer:

The answer is to convince readers that a prince must choose a trustworthy servant to represent him

Explanation:

Niccolo Machiavelli, the author of the revolutionary and controversial book, 'The Prince' wrote the passage stated in Chapter 22 to convince its readers that a prince must choose a trustworthy servant to represent him.

Machiavelli wrote that a servant is a representation or a reflection of what kind of person the prince is. He argued that although a servant is of no importance to a prince, his presence and traits will be a basis of forming an impression or an opinion about the prince.

For example, if a servant is faithful and capable, he will be known as a wise prince because he has the power and ability to make them loyal and competent. And the same goes if they are dishonest and inept, it will make him look a weak and incapable prince.
