Answer:

Chlorophyll transmits green light and captivates red and blue light that plays an essential role in the process of photosynthesis. Due to this, chlorophyll is considered as the most effective and essential pigment found in plants. However, the other pigments apart from chlorophyll, also known as the accessory pigments helps in the absorption of distinct colors on the spectrum of light.  

The accessory pigments, that is, the carotenoids, xanthophylls, and anthocyanins help the molecules of chlorophyll in absorbing a wider spectrum of light waves. Thus, in case, if these other pigments get lost from a plant then the plant would no longer possess the tendency to captivate wavelengths of light different from the ones absorbed by chlorophyll.

    I would choose to make sure the local people value the forest especially the kipunji monkeys. How I would do that is by convicing them that leaving the forest is more profitable than cutting it down for agriculture use by suggesting that tourists will pay to visit their land. Tourism would boost the economy and value of the land. The local people can make a big profit  and save their forest too.
