Explain how these properties of water are related to the phenomena described in the statements below. More than one property may

be used to explain a given phenomenon. a. During the winter, air temperatures in the northern United States can remain below 0°C for months; however, the fish and other animals living in the lakes survive. b. Many substances—for example, salt (NaCl) and sucrose—dissolve quickly in water. c. When you pour water into a 25-ml graduated cylinder, a meniscus forms at the top of the water column. d. Sweating and the evaporation of sweat from the body surface help reduce a human’s body temperature. e. Water drops that fall on a surface tend to form rounded drops or beads. f. Water drops that fall on your car tend to bead or round up more after you polish (or wax) the car than before you polished it. g. If you touch the edge of a paper towel to a drop of colored water, the water will move up into (or be absorbed by) the towel.

A - In the liquid state water has a higher density more than in solid. Reason being ice floats in water, and first is formed on its surface and then in the bottom. Therefore, ice covers the water column as a blanket.

B - Water is a universal solvent for polar compounds. Then the property is being polarity.

C - high surface tension, cohesion, and adhesion.

D - There is higher heat of vaporization

E - It is cohesion

F - hydrophobic interaction, cohesion and adhesion.

G - Adhesion and capillary action.

Cohesion is termed as the attraction which is between molecules of the same substance.

Adhesion are termed as fibrous bands which are formed between organs and tissues. It often occurs as a result of injury during time of surgery.

A - In the liquid state water has a higher density than in the solid. Because ice floats in water, it forms first on its surface and then in the bottom. So, ice covers the water column as a blanket.
B - Water is a universal solvent for polar compounds. So, the property is polarity.
C - high surface tension, adhesion, cohesion

D - high heat of vaporization

E - cohesion

F - hydrophobic interaction, adhesion, cohesion

G - capillary action, adhesion.

Cohesion is attraction between molecules of the same substance. Adhesion is attraction between molecules of different substances.

At the site of the rough endoplasmic reticulum, proteins that are destined for secretion are manufactured. Insulin is a protein-
Eva8 [605]

Answer:

The type of vesicular transport involved in the exporting of protein-based hormones, such as insulin, into the bloodstream is regulated exocytosis.

Explanation:

In general terms, exocytosis is a type of active transport that allows intracellular substances are released to the extracellular space, through of vesicles that fuse with the plasma membrane, which allow the exit of substances from inside the cell.

Regulated exocytosis is the specific vesicular transport for the secretion of substances, such as hormones. For this type of transport to exist, the presence of an extracellular signal is required, which will activate the fusion of the vesicles.

In the case of insulin, the external signal originates with the increase in blood glucose levels, a signal that penetrates the intracellular space and generates an increase in insulin production in the islets of Langerhans (pancreas).

Before insulin secretion occurs, the cell must be depolarized, allowing calcium to enter, which promotes transport by regulated exocytosis of insulin to the extracellular space.

Name and briefly describe the three essential principles of test construction ap psych
Natasha_Volkova [10]
The three essential principles of test construction are listed below:
I. Standardization
II. Reliability
III. Validity

Standardization- To standardize a test means that test is given to a large, representative sample of people, in order to establish the norms that future test takers are compared against (using a normal distribution)

Reliability - This principle requires that a test must produce reliable, consistent results when it is repeated. The reliability of a test can be verified using the test-retest method or the split-half method.

Validity - This refers to the ability of a test to measure what it was designed to measure.
