Answer:

Initial Fee is $2.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Stops  Price (dollars)

3         6.50

7         12.50

11         18.50

Also Given:

The price of a train ticket consists of an initial fee plus a constant fee per stop.

So let the Cost of initial fee be 'x'.

Also Let the Cost of Constant fee be 'y'.

Now Equation can framed as;

Price (P) = x + (y\times \textrm{Number of Stops})

Now According to table;

Number of stops = 3

Price = 6.50

So equation can be framed as;

x+3y =6.50 \ \ \ \ equation \ 1

Also According to table;

Number of stops = 7

Price = 12.50

So equation can be framed as;

x+7y =12.50 \ \ \ \ equation \ 2

Now Subtracting equation 1 from equation 2 we get;

(x+7y)-(x+3y) =12.50-6.50\\\\x+7y-x-3y=6\\\\4y =6\\\\y= \frac{6}{4}=\$1.5

Substituting the value of y in equation 1 we get;

x+3\times1.5=6.50\\\\x+4.5=6.50\\\\x =6.50-4.5 = \$2

Hence Initial Fee is $2.

 the correct question Part 1) is
<span>A school photo has dimensions of 2 1/4 inches by 2 3/4 inches. What are the dimensions of the school photo if it is enlarged by a scale factor of 7?

we know that
2 1/4 in-------> (2*4+1)/4----> 9/4 in
2 3/4 in-----> (2*4+3)/4-----> 11/4 in

if the scale factor=7
the dimensions of the school photo are
(9/4)*7-----> 63/4 in-----> 15 3/4 in
(11/4)*7----> 77/4 in-----> 19 1/4 in

the answer Part 1) is
</span>the dimensions of the school photo are
15 3/4 in x 19 1/4 in

Part 2) <span>Stephanie drew a picture of her house with her prize rosebush in the front. In her picture, she drew the rosebush 1.5 centimeters tall, and she drew the house 7.5 centimeters tall.

If her rosebush is really 0.75 meter tall and she made her drawing to scale, what scale did she use?

scale factor=measure in the drawing/measure in the actual
scale factor=1.5 cm/0.75 m-----> 2 cm/m
that means
2 cm in the drawing is equal to 1 meter in the actual

if the house in the drawing  is 7.5 cm tall
the house in the actual is 7.5/2----> 3.75 m

the answer Part 2) is
the scale is 2 cm/meters

Part 3)</span><span>A photo of a painting has a scale of 3 inches = 2 feet. If the photo is 7.5 inches long, how many feet long is the painting?

we know that
</span>
scale factor=measure in the photo/measure in the painting
measure in the painting=measure in the photo/scale factor
scale factor=3/2---> 1.5 in/ft
measure in the photo=7.5 in

measure in the painting=7.5/1.5----> 5 ft

the answer part 3) is
the painting is 5 ft long

Which are the solutions of x2 = –11x + 4? StartFraction negative 11 minus StartRoot 137 EndRoot Over 2 EndFraction comma StartFr
Marysya12 [62]

Answer:

x_1=-\frac{11}{2}-\frac{\sqrt{137} }{2}\\\\x_2=-\frac{11}{2}+\frac{\sqrt{137} }{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the following quadratic equation:

x^2 = -11x + 4

The steps to solve it are:

1. Move the terms to one side of the equation:

x^2+11x- 4=0

2. Apply the Quadratic formula x=\frac{-b\±\sqrt{b^2-4ac} }{2a}.

In this case we can identify that:

a=1\\b=11\\c=-4

Then, substituting these values into the Quadratic formula we get the following solutions:

x=\frac{-11\±\sqrt{11^2-4(1)(-4)} }{2(1)}

x_1=-\frac{11}{2}-\frac{\sqrt{137} }{2}\\\\x_2=-\frac{11}{2}+\frac{\sqrt{137} }{2}
