ummer. Alexis worked 15 hours less than Becca. Cindy worked 4 more than twice as many hours as Becca.
Write and solve an equation that expresses the relationship between the number of hours each student worked last summer and the total number of hours worked. Define the variable used in your equation.

Alexis worked for 59 hours, Becca worked for 74 hours and Cindy worked for 152 hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Total hours worked by three of them = 285 hours

Let,

x represent the hours of Alexis.

y represent the hours of Becca.

z represent the hours of Cindy.

According to given statement;

x+y+z=285    Eqn 1

Alexis worked 15 hours less than Becca.

x = y-15         Eqn 2

z = 2y+4        Eqn 3

Putting value of x and z from Eqn 2 and 3 in Eqn 1

(y-15)+y+(2y+4)=285\\y-15+y+2y+4=285\\4y-11=285\\4y=285+11\\4y=296

Dividing both sides by 4

\frac{4y}{4}=\frac{296}{4}\\y=74

Putting y=74 in Eqn 2

x=74-15\\x=59

Putting y=74 in Eqn 3

z=2(74)+4\\z=148+4\\z=152

Alexis worked for 59 hours, Becca worked for 74 hours and Cindy worked for 152 hours.

Tems11 [23]
B = hourly rate for babysitting and w = hourly rate for working at water park

3b + 10w = 109...multiply by -8
8b + 12w = 177...multiply by 3
----------------------
-24b - 80w = - 872 (result of multiplying by -8)
24b + 36w = 531 (result of multiplying by 3)
---------------------add
- 44w = - 341
w = -341/-44
w = 7.75 <=== hourly rate for working at water park

3b + 10w = 109
3b + 10(7.75) = 109
3b + 77.50 = 109
3b = 109 - 77.50
3b = 31.50
b = 31.50/3
b = 10.50 <== hourly rate for babysitting

Mateo has already swam 4/5 of the 2000 meters he is swimming today. If he continues swimming at a pace of 3/4 of a meter per sec
Vinvika [58]

Answer: C)

Step-by-step explanation: By multiplying 2000 for 1/5, you discover the remaining distance. Considering Mateo swim 3/4 meters per second, dividing the first result for 3/4 will give you the amount of time that he will take to swim what's left (in units of <em>seconds)</em>

Answer:

\dfrac{4X}{3} \:Units

Step-by-step explanation:

Quadrilaterals KMPT is dilated by a scale factor of 3/4 to create a quadrilateral.

Since KMPT is dilated by a scale factor of 3/4

\text{Perimeter of the dilated Quadrilateral=}\dfrac{3}{4} X $ Perimeter of quadrilateral KMPT

Given that the perimeter of the dilated quadrilateral is X units.

Therefore:

X \:Units=\dfrac{3}{4} X $ Perimeter of quadrilateral KMPT\\Perimeter of quadrilateral KMPT =\dfrac{4X}{3} \:Units
