<span>Red blood cells normally have a biconcave shape (picture a donut, but instead of a hole through the centre there's just a downward slope to the centre of the cell). If the cell takes on water, it will increase in size and the sloped areas will start to flatten out. If the cell loses water, it will begin to shrivel. Which phrases correspond to "spontaneous generation?"?
vova2212 [387]

Answer:

2 & 4

Explanation:

The theory of spontaneous generation stipulated that life emanated spontaneously from ‘nothing’. This was believed to be true until Francesco Redi & Luis Pasteur later falsified this theory using an experiment. He had two plates of cooked meat. He covered one with a glass bowl and left the other open. The plate with a bowl did not develop maggots while the open one did. This showed that maggot was as a result of hatched eggs that were deposited by flies. Life, therefore, emanates from life.

Explain the concept of growth using these terms: differentiate, meristem, elongation, and vascular cambium.
egoroff_w [7]

Answer: Well for one, Differentiate is when a cell matures and is used in a specific function. Meristem is a cell which never differeates and constantly divides so it is a mitotic cell. Elongation is the plant growing length wise therefore the meristem elongates the plant. Vascular cambium is the cambium which starts out in vascular bundles of the plant and then grows to form a ring inside the stem of plants that live for more than year- it causes and increase in thickness of the stem and branches.

hope this helped luv :)
