Answer:

The net income earned during the year is $ 5,000

Explanation:

The first point to kn ow is the accounting equation is A=L+SE

So to calculate the opening stockholders equity we can rearrange the accounting equation to be:

A-L = SE

so opening SE is

Assets $ 50,000 - Liabilities $ 40,000 =  Stockholders Equity $ 10,000

Ending Stockholders equity is:

Assets $ 35,000 - Liabilities $ 20,000 = Stockholders Equity $ 15,000

Since the question mentions that the change in stockholders equity is only due to net income, the increase of $ 5,000 represents the net income for 2019.

yuradex [85]

Answer:

$1.49 per share

Explanation:

The calculation of diluted earnings per share is given below:-

Diluted shares outstanding= $200,000 + 12,000 × ($36 - $30) ÷ 36

= $200,000 + 12,000 × 6 ÷ 36

= $200,000 + 2,000

= $202,000

Diluted earnings per share = Net income ÷ Diluted shares outstanding

= $300,000 ÷ $202,000

= $1.49 per share

Therefore for computing the diluted earnings per share we simply divide the net income by diluted shares outstanding.

Which one of the following is an unintended result of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act? Multiple Choice More detailed and accurate financi
Evgesh-ka [11]

Answer:

Increased responsibility for corporate officers

Explanation:

A review of eight thousand public companies, on the study of the impact of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) of 2002 revealed that <u>SOX increased directors' workload and risk, and increased demand by mandating that firms have more outside directors. </u>

It was also revealed that both broad-based changes and cross-sectional changes (by firm size) occurred <u>because Board committees meet more often post-SOX</u> and Director and Officer insurance premiums have doubled.

(To record inerest expense)

Cash                                              $15,000

<u>Calculations are as follows:</u>

Amortization = $1,500,000 - $1,406,500 = $93,500

The bond period is for 5 years 8 months = 68 months

Interest revenue = 1,500,000 multiply 12% multiply 1/12 = &18.000

C&amp;A sells T-shirts for $20 that cost $5 to produce. The annual holding cost percentage is 10% and the T-shirts turn 25 times
ad-work [718]

Answer:

$0.02

Explanation:

C&A sells T-shirts for $20 that cost $5 to produce

The annual holfing cost percentage is 10%

The T-shirts turn 25 times a year

The first step is to calculate the holding cost

= $5 × 10/100

= $5 × 0.1

= 0.5

Therefore, since the T-shirts turn over 25 times a year then, the holding cost that C&A incurs for each T-shirts can be calculated as follows

= 0.5/25 times

= $0.02

Hence C&A incur a holding cost of $0.02 for each T-shirts
