A growing trend in most states is the push for year-round education. Most states and school districts still participate in a reg

ular school year with a three-month summer break. However, some believe that it is not nearly as beneficial for students as year-round schooling. One reason is because the summer break is too long, and students tend to forget what they've learned before the break. With year-round schooling, students can better retain what they've learned since there is no long break between grades. Another advantage for students is school uniforms since most school districts are requiring them. Also, year-round school better prepares high school students for college since most college students go to summer school terms as well as fall and spring terms.
Which of the following sentences least supports the main idea of this paragraph?
A.
"With year-round schooling, students can better retain what they've learned since there is no long break between grades."
B.
"One reason is because the summer break is too long, and students tend to forget what they've learned before the break."
C.
"However, some believe that it is not nearly as beneficial for students as year-round schooling."
D.
"Another advantage for students is school uniforms since most school districts are requiring them."

ddd [48]
The two events that most relate to Janie's view that true love is the key to happiness are when she meets Tea Cake, and when her image of Jody is shattered after he hits her. This is because when Janie meets Tea Cake, her whole world view changes. He treats her as an equal, and she can be herself around him. Once she falls for him, it changes essentially everything for her.

Janie's image of Jody "shattering" is also representative of this view of Janie's, because it represents what can happen to one's happiness when they <em>don't </em> have true love. Janie thought fairly highly of Jody, and she loved him, but when he hits her, her happiness and love for him is gone.

Select ALL the correct text in the passage.
ki77a [65]

Answer: The two lines that best support this claim are - "knot's untied that made us one" and "God grant to yours and you".

Explanation:

The theme of Anne Bradstreet's poem<em> " Before the Birth of One of Her Children"</em> is that people cannot avoid death, and should spend this valuable time on Earth in a best way possible.

At the time the poem was written, religion was very important. Christianity was, according to the settlers, superior to all other religions. It is, therefore, not surprising that the literature in the colonial era often contains religious references. These are also included in Bradstreet's poems, in which God is frequently referred to.

In the sixth sentence of the third paragraph (“She campaigned . . . and to her”), the author uses the dash primarily to
nlexa [21]

Answer: A.) stress a significant connection

Explanation: The author discusses her mother’s election in order to stress the commonality between her mother’s priorities and those of the Wyoming voters who elected her, an important piece of evidence for her argument. In this sentence, the author strategically inserts a dash between the phrases “to Wyoming people” and “and to her.” By creating a significant pause between the two phrases, the dash effectively emphasizes the phrase following the dash (“and to her”), allowing the author to underscore the convergence between her mother’s values and those of her supporters.
