War Horse- Life of a teenage compare/contrast
HACTEHA [7]
The life of tennagers like Albert, Emily, Michael and Gunter, was one of the tipical life of a teenager where they had the chance to live a simple life and a very active one. They used to help in many house work and to respect more the decisions of their parents. They had their time to play but many of the things they did had to do with playing innocent and sometimes were accompanied with antics and naughtiness. Todays teenagers are more independent from their house chores and their parents. Remember that before world war, many of the teenagers were enroled in activities related to that war so they received better discipline that those from this epoch. The similarities can be a few, some of them could be sumarized in the fact that teenagers, even independent, were not used to go from home until they were grown ups or adults

Write a compare-and-contrast analysis of how culture shapes the heroes in Heart of a Samurai and Black Ships Before Troy.
aliina [53]

Answer:

The culture in "Black Ships Before Troy" caused a hero to be seen as a traitor, while in "Heart of a Samurai" the culture almost prevented a hero from appearing.

Explanation:

"Black Ships Before Troy" presents a people with a culture very based on religion, where they believed that all the events that happened were due to the action of the gods. Good events were because the gods were happy, while bad events were caused by the wrath of the gods. In this case, when a hero tried to stop the horse sent to Troy and ended up dying before completing his mission, he was seen as a traitor who was rebuked by the gods.

In contrast, "Heart of a Samurai" shows how a boy who dreamed of being a samurai was prevented because his family was made up of fishermen and the culture said that young people should follow their parents' tragedy.

Read the excerpt from Warriors Don't Cry. What is the central idea of the excerpt?
Lorico [155]

Answer:

The answer is A. Ministers sometimes encourage people to make positive changes.

Explanation:

The full options to this question are:

A. Ministers sometimes encourage people to make positive changes.

B. Ministers can be in charge of making changes in local government.

C. People should never forgive Governor Faubus.

D. People should not share their beliefs with the public

In the excerpt above, the minister was telling them that it would be good to pray for the governor and do whatever was necessary to heal the sour feeling they had about white people.

He was clearly encouraging them to pray, heal and try to dissolve the feelings they had towards whites.

This shows how ministers sometimes encourage people to make positive changes.
