D.M., a 25-year-old man, hops into the emergency department (ED) with complaints of right ankle pain. He states that he was play

ing basketball and stepped on another player's foot, inverting his ankle. You note swelling over the lateral malleolus down to the area of the fourth and fifth metatarsals, and pedal pulses are 3+ bilaterally. His vital signs (VS) are 124/76, 82, 18. He has no allergies and takes no medication. He states he has had no prior surgeries or medical problems. In assessing D.M.'s injured ankle, what should be evaluated?

Answer:

Musculoskeletal disorders

Explanation:

In the case shown above, the existence of musculoskeletal disorders should be evaluated initially so that the most appropriate treatment to repair any of these disorders and prevent more serious problems such as changes in posture, body movement and the natural movement of people should be started quickly. joints of the patient's body, which can cause physical deficiencies and severe deformations.

In assessing DM's injured ankle,the following should be evaluated;

OBSERVATION- This is the first step in the assessment of any injury, the injured leg should be observed for swelling, bruises, redness, tenderness, deformity and other postural issues.

PALPATION- The entire ankle joint and the sorrounding should be palpated and assessed for areas of swelling and warmness, one may also check if the ligament feel pan when touched.

Range of motion test should be added to to ascertain the active and passive movement with the knees placed straight and bent, the flexibility of the ankle should also be assessed.

Resisted muscle test should be suggested to assess the muscle strength around the ankle joint as compared to the other side.

Special test should also be done to assess the ligament integrity and the level of damage done to them.

Functional test should also be done to check how the injury in the ankle affects DM's walking, jumping and hopping.

olga nikolaevna [1]

Answer:

The correct answer is B. clavicle articulates with the manubrium of the sternum.

Explanation:

The clavicle is an anterior bone whose sternal end articulates with the manubrium of the sternum at the sternoclavicular joint. The sternal end is also anchored to the first rib by the costoclavicular ligament. The medial end, also known as the sternal end of the clavicle, has a triangular shape and articulates with the manubrium portion of the sternum. This forms the sternoclavicular joint, which is the only bony articulation between the pectoral girdle of the upper limb and the axial skeleton.

In 1986, a nuclear power accident in Chernobyl, USSR (now Ukraine), led to high radiation levels for miles surrounding the plant
riadik2000 [5.3K]

Answer:

Radiation leads to mutations that causes genetic drift and decrease fitness.

Explanation:

Radiation is responsible for changing or altering the DNA sequence within a cell.

Radiation either causes mutation or it leads to cell death.

Most of the ionizing radiation causes mutation within the  deep inside of our cells which eventually leads genetic drift which means change in the frequency of the allele in a population over time.

Beneficial mutation confer advantage to the organism. But in this case, the mutation is not beneficial and decreases the fitness of the rodent organisms.

A fish has a head 9 inches long. the tail is equal to the size of the head plus one half the size of the body. the body is the s
Katena32 [7]

So let’s substitute that into the third equation and solve for B. B = H + T B = 9 + (9 + 1/2B) B = 18 + 1/2B Then subtract 1/2B from both sides: 1/2B = 18 Multiply both sides by two: B = 36 Now we know the value of B and the value of H. Substitute this back into the second equation and solve for T. T = H + 1/2B T = 9 + (1/2)36 T = 9 + 18 = 27 Step 4: Plug all values of H, T, and B into the final equation. Total length of fish = H + T + B Total length of fish = 9 +27 + 36 = 72.

Anastasy [175]
I think, Lipogenesis is a common for organic molecules because the intermediate Acetyl-CoA is formed in most metabolic processes. Lipogenesis involves the formation of fatty acids from Acetyl-CoA. Acetyl-CoA is an intermediate stage in metabolism of simple sugars, such as glucose, which is the preferred source of energy for most living organisms.

Neville has low blood pressure and his pituitary started producing a homorone to maintain water balance his blood pressure event
ivanzaharov [21]

Answer: The options are missing in the question,the options are;

A) Positive feedback will stop the release of this hormone.

B) Positive feedback will speed up the release of this hormone.

C) Negative feedback will speed up the release of this hormone.

D) Negative feedback will stop the release of this hormone.

The correct answer to the question is option D

NEGATIVE FEEDBACK WILL STOP THE RELEASE OF THIS HORMONE.

Explanation: The hormone the will be produced is known as Antidiuretic hormone (ADH).it is otherwise known as VASOPRESSIN.It is secreted by the posterior lobe of the pituitary gland.

The main effect of Antidiuretic hormone is to reduce urine output,(diuresis is the production of large amount of urine). Antidiuretic hormone acts in the distal convulated tubules and the collecting ducts of the nephrons of the kidneys,it increases their permeability to water and more of the glomerular filtrate is reabsorbed. Antidiuretic hormone secretion is determined by the osmotic pressure of the blood circulating to the osmoreceptors in the hypothalamus.

As osmotic pressure rises, for example as a result of dehydration, secretion of Antidiuretic hormone increases. With this, there is Increased reabsorption of water reducing the amount of urine produced. This implies that more water is retained in the body making the rise in the osmotic pressure of the blood to be low,for example, after a large fluid intake, secretion of Antidiuretic hormone is reduced, less water is reabsorbed and more urine is produced.

At high concentrations, for example after severe blood loss, antidiuretic hormone causes smooth muscle contraction, especially vasoconstriction in small arteries.this has a pressor effect, raising systemic blood pressure.
