Answer: 21

Sofia cuts a piece in the shape of a kite for an art project

top two sides measure 20 cm each

bottom two sides measure 13 cm each.

One diagonal, EG, measures 24 cm

Find out the length of the other diagonal, DF.

explanation-

DE = EF = 20cm

DG = GF = 13cm

EG = 24cm

DF = ?

In kite shape

One diagonal is the perpendicular bisector of the other diagonal.

i.e EG is the perpendicular bisector of DF

i.e EG is divided into two equal parts

thus EA = AG = 12cm

in Δ EAF

By applying the pythagorus theorem

we have

EF² = FA²+ EA²

20² = 12² + FA²

400 -144 = FA²

256 =FA²

16cm = FA

Now in Δ DAG

DG² = AG² + DA²

13² = 12 ²+ DA²

169 -144 = DA²

25 = DA²

5cm = DA

Step-by-step explanation:

Table:          <u>  Algebra | No algebra | Total</u>

Physics        |      4           Step 1: 8      12

No physics  |Step 2: 15

Total            |      19                              30

We look for the number of people who are in algebra and no physics or physics and no algebra.

1. 12 - 4 = <em>8</em>

2. 19 - 4 = <em>15</em>

3. We find the total of those numbers: <em>15 + 8 =</em> 23

The sides of a square are three to the power of two sevenths inches long. What is the area of the square? (
____ [38]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The side of the square = 3^2/7

Use the law of exponents . If the power is a fraction, that means it is

3^2/7 = 3^2 x 1/7 = 7√9

To find the area you multiply this by itself.

This gives you 1.87...

Hope this helps

Which properties are present in a table that represents an exponential function in the form y-b* when b &gt; 1?
Oksana_A [137]

Answer:

<u>Properties that are present are </u>

Property I

Property IV

Step-by-step explanation:

The function given is  y=b^x  where b > 1

Let's take a function, for example,  y=2^x

Let's check the conditions:

I. As the x-values increase, the y-values increase.

Let's put some values:

y = 2 ^ 1

y = 2

and

y = 2 ^ 2

y = 4

So this is TRUE.

II. The point (1,0) exists in the table.

Let's put 1 into x and see if it gives us 0

y = 2 ^ 1

y = 2

So this is FALSE.

III. As the x-value increase, the y-value decrease.

We have already seen that as x increase, y also increase in part I.

So this is FALSE.

IV. as the x value decrease the y values decrease approaching a singular value.

THe exponential function of this form NEVER goes to 0 and is NEVER negative. So as x decreases, y also decrease and approached a value (that is 0) but never becomes 0.

This is TRUE.

Option I and Option IV are true.

Which of the following could be the ratio of the length of the longer leg of a 30-60-90 triangle to the length of its hypotenuse
Aliun [14]

Answer:

Option C is correct.

Ratio of longer leg to hypotenuse is;  \sqrt{3} : 2

Step-by-step explanation:

This is the special right angle triangle 30°-60°-90°  as shown below in the figure.

  • The side opposite the 30° angle is always the shortest because 30 degrees is the smallest angle.
  • The side opposite the 60° angle will be the longer leg, because 60 degrees is the mid-sized degree angle in this triangle.
  • Finally , the side opposite the 90° angle will always be the largest side(Hypotenuse) because 90 degrees is the largest angle.

In 30°−60°−90° right triangle,

  • the length of the hypotenuse is twice the length of the shorter leg,also
  • the length of the longer leg is \sqrt{3} times the length of the shorter leg.

Then:

the sides are in proportion i.e,  1:\sqrt{3} :2

Therefore, the ratio of the length of the longer leg to the length of its hypotenuse is:  \sqrt{3} : 2
