<h2>Protein sequence</h2>

Explanation:

  • The given sequence is of coding strand(5'-3' direction)

5’-ATGTTGAAAATGCCGTAGAGGC-3’

  • Protein is made up of mRNA and mRNA has the same sequence as coding strand(only T is replaced by U) so the sequence of mRNA will be:

5’-AUGUUGAAAAUGCCGUAGAGGC-3’

According to the genetic code,3 bases code for one nucleotide and further nucleotide codes for amino acid, amino acids forms the base for protein

  • AUG codes for Methionine(Met)
  • UUG codes for Leucine(Leu)
  • AAA codes for Lysine(Lys)
  • AUG codes for Methionine(Met)
  • CCG codes for Proline(Pro)
  • UAG codes for stop codon(Stop)

Once the stop codon comes protein synthesis will be stopped,so the final protein sequence will be:

Met-Leu-Lys-Met-Pro-Stop

Simora [160]

Looks like you're missing an answer choice. I have this question on my practice test for AP Chemistry, the correct answer would be KCl.

mass AgCl = 2.23 - 0.80 = 1.43g AgCl

1.43g AgCl / 143g/mol AgCl = 0.01 moles AgCl

- AgCl has a mole ratio of 1:1 so:

moles Ag+ = moles Cl-, therefore Ag+ has 0.01 moles and Cl- has 0.01 moles

- MCl also has a 1:1 ration

      moles Cl- = moles M+

      - 0.01 moles of M+ and Cl-

0.01 Cl- = x/35.45 = 0.3545g Cl-

mass MCl = 0.74g

0.74g MCl - 0.3545g Cl- = 0.3955g M+

0.3955g M+/x =0.010 mol M+

x= 39.55g M+

K+ has a molar mass of approximately 39.10

Therefore KCl is your answer

Which of the following correctly identifies the decomposers in the forest food web shown below? (1 point)
REY [17]
The answer would be D. Shrubs, fungi, insects, and bacteria. Shrubs and fungi are definitely main decomposers and insects and bacteria do consume dead matter and waste so they also count as decomposers.

Consider a field plot containing 200 kg of plant material. Approximately how many kg of carnivore production can be supported? A
mixas84 [53]

Answer:

E) 2

Explanation:

The energy transfer through the food chain is not 100% from one consumer to another, or from the producer to the primary consumer, but instead it is around 10%. This means that if a producer has the 100% of energy, as it is the one that produces it, the primary consumer will only get 10% of its energy while consuming it, while the predator of the the primary consumer will only 10% from the primary consumer, or rather only 1% from the energy of the producer. In this case we have 200 kg of plant material. The plant material represents a producer, thus it is the one with 100% of energy. A herbivore will eat the plant material, getting 10% of its energy, thus this plant material is supporting about 20 kg of herbivore. The predator of the herbivore gets only 10% from the herbivore's energy, or only 1% of the producer's energy, thus only 2 kg of predator can be supported by the initial plant material.

Develop a hypothesis to explain why you think eurypterids developed legs even though they lived on the ocean floor.
expeople1 [14]

I think that since it lives on the ocean floor, at the deepest of the ocean. So anyway, the fin on the Eurypterids is still necessary but not that much, since they live on the ocean floor. Their movements mostly on the ocean floor. So fin would not help them "stick" to the floor. Also there are still gravity acts on the Eurypterids and the feet would help them move faster. Hope this helps.
