Clifford Parody writes:

With the help of his mother, Robin Arnold, and a tight-knit group of family friends, the Lakeland 12-year-old launched his website jaylenschallenge.org in May 2009 to educate people on the effects of bullying. From there his campaign against bullying has flourished.

"It's crazy in a good way," Jaylen, a sixth-grader at Victory Christian Academy, said. "Kids are coming up to me and telling me they aren't getting bullied as much. I'm glad that it's gotten so big."

Linda Ellerbee writes:

According to Mihok, Jaylen is getting his message across.

And together, they’re empowering other kids to stand up to bullying.

"It's just amazing to see these young people have their lives altered by [Jaylen]," Mihok told the Ledger.

If you don't believe Mihok, ask one of Jaylen's classmates at Victory Christian Academy in Lakeland.

"It actually changed [my] life," said classmate McKenna Inglett, in an interview with WFTS reporter Laura Harris. "I have tried to change some people that were bullying me."

Which statement best explains how hyperbole affects meaning in “Afternoon in School – The Last Lesson”?
nignag [31]

The correct answer is D.

The teacher clearly dislikes his students; he describes their work as slovenly and says that he is sick and tired of dealing with them.

He explains that he will not take the last of his energy and waste it on them, since they are so indifferent. While he does not like them, he does not yet hate them. He says if he were to give them the last of his energy, however, he would end up hating them. For now, though, he just dislikes them and waits for the bell.
