Answer:

Difference in the shape of the chromosome present in each type of cell i.e. circular for prokaryotic cells and linear for eukaryotic cells

Explanation:

The cell of a living organism can either be prokaryotic or eukaryotic depending on whether the cell possesses a membrane-bound nucleus that houses the genetic material (DNA). The genetic material of every living cell is the DNA, which generally consists of two long polynucleotide chains composed of four types of building block units called nucleotides. These nuceleotides are Adenine, Guanine, Cytosine and Thymine. Each of these chains is called a strand, hence, DNA is a double-stranded molecule.

However, in a cell, the long DNA cannot ordinarily fit into the cell without a form of compaction. The cell then devise a means in order for its genetic material to fit into the cell by wrapping it around certain proteins called HISTONES, and further coiling it to form a structure called CHROMOSOME. The chromosome is the structure that contains the DNA in every cell.

However, the structure of the DNA in every cell is very much the same but the shape of the chromosome that carries it is what differs. Chromosomes in prokaryotic cells are found as a single CIRCULAR shape while the chromosome of eukaryotes are LINEAR in shape.

Calculate how long it will take for one full base pair mutation to occur. Explain your reasoning with by constructing a mathemat
scoray [572]

Answer:

Since the gene mutates at a rate of 0.76 base pairs every 17.1 million years, to find out the time it would take for 1 base pair to mutate can be calculated by dividing 17.1 million years by 0.76

17,100,000 ÷ 0.76 = 22.5 million years

The following equation can be used to describe this:

μ = [(r2/N2) − (r1/N1)] × ln (N2/N1) = (f1 − f2) × ln (N2/N1)

r1 = the observed number of mutants at time point 1

r2 = the observed number of mutants at the next time point

N1 and N2 are the numbers of cells at time points 1 and 2

______________ sources of water pollution are relatively easy to monitor and regulate while __________ sources of water pollutio
gtnhenbr [62]

Answer:C. Point, nonpoint

Explanation:

Point source of water pollution originate from a single source and the source of origin can be determined. Industrial and sewage drainage systems are the examples of point source pollutants. The source of pollutant is easy to detect and monitor.

Non-point source of water pollution the source of pollution remains undetermined. The pollutants may enter in water body through multiple sources. Hence, it is difficult to track back the source of single pollutant. Thus non-point source pollution cannot be clean and monitored.

How could you test to see if soil temp was responsible for a variation in flower color?
Lostsunrise [7]
To design an experiment, you must set all other variables constant. These may include the environment, soil type, plant/flower type, water treatment and other essential variables. The only parameter you should vary is the soil temperature.
