Answer:

8 pounds of raisin, 6 pounds of granola and 16 pounds of peanuts

Step-by-step explanation:

Lets form equations first.

->Peanuts cost $2.50 per pound, raisins cost $2.00 per pound,  granola costs $4.00 per pound

2.50p + 2.00r + 4.00g= 80 -->eq(1)

-> bought ingredients to make 30 pounds of trail mix

p+ r+ g= 30 -->eq(2)

->If you use twice as many pounds of peanuts as raisins

2r=p

eq(1)=> 2.50p + 2.00r + 4.00g= 80

2.5(2r) + 2r +4g =80

5r + 2r + 4g =80

7r + 4g =80

eq(2)=>

2r+ r+ g= 30

3r + g =30

-4(3r + g =30)

   7r + 4g =80

_______________

 -5r = -40

r= 40/5 =>8

For 'g':

3(8) + g =30

g= 6

For 'p':

2r=p

p=16

therefore, 8 pounds of raisin, 6 pounds of granola and 16 pounds of peanuts should be bought

Cube-shaped blocks are packed into a cube-shaped storage container. The edge length of the storage container is 212 feet. The
igor_vitrenko [27]

Answer:

The volume of cube-shaped block is 0.125 cubic feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following in the question:

Edge length of storage container =

2\dfrac{1}{2}\text{ feet}

Edge length of block =

\dfrac{1}{5}\times \text{Edge length of container}

Putting value we get,

Edge length of block =

\dfrac{1}{5}\times 2\dfrac{1}{2}\\\\=\dfrac{1}{5}\times \dfrac{5}{2}\\\\=\dfrac{1}{2}\text{ feet}

Volume of cube-shaped block = Volume of cube

V = \text{(Edge)}^3\\\\V =(\dfrac{1}{2})^3\\\\V = \dfrac{1}{8}\text{ cubic feet}\\\\V = 0.125\text{ cubic feet}

Thus, the volume of cube-shaped block is 0.125 cubic feet.

Leokris [45]

Answer:

The difference in earnings, over a 30-year career, for men vs women, is $1,200,150

Step-by-step explanation:

Per year.

The average man earns $90,761.

The average woman earns $50,756

So, per year, the difference is:

90,761 - 50,756 = 40,005

Over 30 years:

30*40,005 = 1,200,150

The difference in earnings, over a 30-year career, for men vs women, is $1,200,150

Please help me. The original blueprint of the Moreno’s’ living room has a scale of 2 inches= 5 feet. The family wants to use a n
Svetradugi [14.3K]

Answer:

Part a) The scale of the new blueprint is \frac{5}{8} \frac{in}{ft}

Part b) The width of the living room in the new blueprint is 9.4\ in

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The scale of the original blueprint is

\frac{2}{5}\frac{in}{ft}

and

the width of the living room on the original blueprint is 6 inches

so

<em>Find the actual width of the living room, using proportion</em>

\frac{2}{5}\frac{in}{ft}=\frac{6}{x}\frac{in}{ft}\\ \\x=5*6/2\\ \\x=15\ ft

<em>Find the actual length of the living room, using proportion</em>

\frac{2}{5}\frac{in}{ft}=\frac{9.6}{x}\frac{in}{ft}\\ \\x=5*9.6/2\\ \\x=24\ ft

<em>Find the scale of the new blueprint</em>, divide the length of the living room on the new blueprint by the actual length of the living room

\frac{15}{24} \frac{in}{ft}

simplify

\frac{5}{8} \frac{in}{ft}

<em>Find the width of the living room in the new blueprint, using proportion</em>

\frac{5}{8}\frac{in}{ft}=\frac{x}{15}\frac{in}{ft}\\ \\x=15*5/8\\ \\x=9.4\ in
