A computer with a 240-watt power supply is connected to a 120 V circuit and is left on continuously for one month (31 days). How

much current does it draw? What is the resistance of the computer? How much energy does the computer use if it does not enter a power save mode? If electricity costs $0.11/kW hr, how much does it cost to leave the computer on for a month?

Answer:A load has resistance and this is measured in ohms. Every electrical device or load has resistance. Resistance is like a restriction to the flow of electrons and electricity is dissipated as heat energy in a resistance. For a fixed voltage applied to a load, the higher the resistance, the lower the current. Going back to the water analogy, when you stand on a hose, you increase the resistance and restrict the flow. The only way to restore the flow is by getting the pump to pump harder, and force water through the restriction, i.e. the pump needs to have a higher pressure. Alternatively if you take your foot off the hose, you increase the diameter and lower the resistance and more water can be forced through. In an electrical circuit, if the voltage is increased, more current is forced through the resistance. If the resistance is lowered, more current will flow even if the voltage doesn't change. Even connecting wires in a circuit have resistance, so when high currents need to be carried by a cable, it needs to have a sufficiently large diameter and cross sectional area (CSA) to avoid overheating.

In the game of $Mindmaster$, secret codes are created by placing pegs of any of seven different colors into four slots. Colors may be repeated, and no slot may remain empty. 2401 secret codes are possible.

<u>Explanation:</u>

Mastermind is a board game that was developed by Mordecai Meirowitz, in 1971. The Code maker sets a secret code, then the Codebreaker attempts to meet the code using logic, deduction. Behind each move, the Code maker provides hints to the Codebreaker. Make the code even more indirect by using multiple pegs of the same color or by leaving one or more peg holes empty. With so many feasible code sequences, every game is confirmed to be a brain teaser.

7 colors with 4 slots and repetition of color are accepted so 7^4 is 2401.

Write a program that calculates an adult's fat-burning heart rate, which is 70% of 220 minus the person's age. Complete fat_burn
Brut [27]

Answer:

def get_age():

age = int(input())

if(age>=18 and age<=75):

return age

else:

raise ValueError("Invalid age.")

def fat_burning_heart_rate(age):

return ((70 / 100) * (220 - age))

if __name__ == '__main__':

try:

age = get_age()

print("Fat burning heart rate for a",age,"year-old:",fat_burning_heart_rate(age),"bpm")

except ValueError as ve:

print(ve.args[0])

print("Could not calculate heart rate info.")

Explanation:

def get_age():

age = int(input())

if(age>=18 and age<=75):

return age

else:

raise ValueError("Invalid age.")

def fat_burning_heart_rate(age):

return ((70 / 100) * (220 - age))

if __name__ == '__main__':

try:

age = get_age()

print("Fat burning heart rate for a",age,"year-old:",fat_burning_heart_rate(age),"bpm")

except ValueError as ve:

print(ve.args[0])

print("Could not calculate heart rate info.")

The above program performs an operation to determine the percentage of fat burning rate.

It takes the value of the ages of some adult as input, performs a series of conditional statement function on them. Before given an output .

Confidentiality in the workplace: What you need to know

When you give advice to clients or patients for a living, you'll know that protecting sensitive and personal information is crucial. But are you clear on what counts as a breach of confidence or what to do if one occurs?

From how to protect confidential information, to what breaches of confidence look like for different jobs, here's what you need to know about confidentiality in the workplace.

What is a breach of confidentiality?

In short, a confidentiality breach is the disclosure of information to someone without the consent of the person who owns it. In other words, failing to respect a person's privacy or the confidence in which they gave the information or data to you, by passing it onto someone else.

Why is confidentiality important?

Protecting confidential information is vital. If you're in a position where you have access to or are given this type of data at work, your career relies on your ability to keep patient or client confidentiality. If you don't, you could lose trust and integrity in the eyes of your existing (and potential future) clients, who could terminate your contract and take legal action against you.

Therapist/patient confidentiality

Unsurprisingly, patient confidentiality is highly important for therapists and counsellors. It forms part of the therapeutic frame of appropriate boundaries, which creates a safe space for a good working relationship to form.

Here’re some examples of ways you could unintentionally break patient/therapist confidentiality:

Sharing confidential information about a client with a family member or friend

Talking about confidential information somewhere you can be overheard

Leaving your computer containing confidential information open to others

Continuing to work with a client when there's a conflict of interests (for example, they know one of your family members or friends)

When permission to share information is given but isn't specific, this can create confusion and result in a potential breach (for example, a patient may give permission for their information to be shared with a teacher but not their GP)
