Answer:

The cost function is:

Mixed cost =  3.75x + 1375

Explanation:

A mixed cost is a cost that contains an element of both the fixed and the variable cost in it. The variable element per unit in a mixed cost can be calculated using the high low method. The formula for variable cost per unit under the high low method is,

Variable cost per unit = ( Cost at highest activity level - Cost at lowest activity level)  /  ( units of highest activity level - units of lowest activity level)

The units of activity level here are <u>hours</u>. The highest activity level here is 10300 hours and the lowest activity level here is 5500 hours.

The variable cost per hour = (40000 - 22000)  /  (10300 - 5500)

Variable cost per hour = $3.75

The total fixed cost in this mixed cost =   22000  -  (3.75 * 5500)  = $1375

Thus the cost function is =   3.75x + 1375

Where x is the number of hours

Orlov [11]

Answer:

Net income will increase by $11,250

Explanation:

Provided information,

Current sales = 75,000 units which represents 80% capacity

Therefore, 100% capacity = \frac{75,000}{0.8} = 93,750 units

Fixed cost at 100% capacity = $1.25 \times 93,750 = $117,187.50

Therefore,

Current net income

Sales = 75,000 \times $7.00 = $525,000

Less: Variable cost = 75,000 \times $3.50 = $262,500

Less: Fixed Cost = $117,187.50

Net Operating Income = $145,312.50

Now with the additional order, which is of 15,000 units the additional ideal capacity of 20% will be utilized, further no fixed cost will be incurred, as the entire fixed cost for 100% capacity is utilized, thus

Sales = 15,000 \times $3 = $45,000

Less: Variable cost = 15,000 \times $2.25 = $33,750

Net Income = $11,250

Thus, the net income will increase by $11,250

Answer:

c. Debit Cash $745; credit Note Receivable $745.

Explanation:

It is very difficult to understand your question since it is typed in a very complex manner. I have attached a screen shot that contains the similar question, it helped me and will help others to understand the data given.

a. This entry has already been recorded in the company's accounts. It should be reconciled with the Bank Account.

b. A miscellaneous expense has been incurred but it was paid and not on credit.

c. Correct Entry. As you can see that a Note Receivable has been collected by bank from customer. So, we have to increase the Cash balance by debiting it and remove the receivables by crediting it.

d. Sales transaction is never a part of Bank Reconciliation.

e. $745 has been collected from customer and not paid to vendor. The amount paid is $1,730 which is already recorded in the Books.

The CFO of Mulroney Brothers has suggested that the company should issue $300 million worth of common stock and use the proceeds
Pani-rosa [81]

Answer: A. The company's net income will increase.

Explanation:

Based on the above scenario, the net income of the company will increase. From the new issue, it should be noted that there will be redemption of debt and therefore, there'll be reduction in the debt which will lead to lower interest expense.

It should be noted that the net income, which is also referred to as the net earnings, is simply the sales minus the cost of goods sold, interest, taxes and the general expenses. Since there's a lower interest expense, there'll be a rise in net income.

To Allowance for doubtful accounts                                    $17,203

(To record bad debt expense for the period)

Ending balance in accounts receivables:

= Opening balance + sales on account during the period - Collection during the period - write off during the period

= $191,500 + $782,000 - $697,920 - $6,591

= $268,989

Allowance for doubtful accounts unadjusted balance:

= $9,840 + $2,948 - $6,591

= $6,197

Ending balance in Allowance for Doubtful Accounts = $23,400
