Let x be the earnings/hour at the movie theater.
      y be the earnings/hour at the pet store

Systems of equations:

$152.50 = 10x + 8y
$171 = 8x + 10y

Solving for x and y:
x = $4.36/ hour in the movie theater
y = $13.61/ hour in the pet store.<span />

If w= the weight of trout. Which algebraic expression represents the phrase below?
konstantin123 [22]

Product means multiplication.

Given w= weight of a trout.

So, we need to convert "product of 16 and weight of trout: w " into an algebraic expression.

So, product of 16 and w can be written as 16*w or simply 16w.

Hence, B is the correct choice.

Determine the input value for which the statement f(x) = g(x) is true. From the graph, the input value is approximately_______ .
Julli [10]

In this question , we have a graph given, and we have to find the x coordinate of the intersection point .

From the graph , the input value is approximately 3.3 .

In the graph,

f(x) =3

And for g(x), we need the slope and y intercept .

Slope is the ratio of rise and run .

Here rise equals 3 units and run equals 2 units. And the graph touch the y axis at -2 .

So the equation of g(x) is

g(x) = \frac{3}{2}x -2

We need to do

f(x)= g(x)

Substituting the values of the two functions, we will get

3 = \frac{3}{2}x -2

Adding 2 to both sides

5 = \frac{3}{2}x

Cross multiplication

10 =3x&#10;\\&#10;x = \frac{10}{3}

x = 3.3

So the input value is 3.3 approx

Since the margin of error is 5%, the minimum of supporters will be less than the maximum of disapprovers.

So the third option will be correct. You cannot make certain conclusions based on this survey.

-3^(-x)-6=-3^x+10<br><br>Solve the equation below for x by graphing plz
vitfil [10]
To graph it, just graph y=-3^{-x}-6 and y=-3^x+10 and see where they intersect

I would like to solve it by using math and not graphing
if you don't want to see the math, just don't scroll down
the graphical meathod is above, first line, just read it

hmm
multiply both sides by -1
3^{-x}+6=3^x-10
multiply both sides by 3^x
3^0+6(3^x)=3^{2x}-10(3^x)
1+6(3^x)=3^{2x}-10(3^x)
minus 1 from both sides and minus 6(3^x) from both sides
0=3^{2x}-16(3^x)-1
use u subsitution
u=3^x
we can rewrite it as
0=u^2-16u-1
now factor
I mean use quadratic formula
for ax^2+bx+c=0 x=\frac{-b+/-\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}
so for 0=u^2-16u-1, a=1, b=-16, c=-1
u=\frac{-(-16)+/-\sqrt{(-16)^2-4(1)(-1)}{2(1)}
u=8+/-\sqrt{65}
remember that u=3^x so u>0
if we have u=8+√65, it's fine, but u=8-√65 is negative and not allowed
so therfor
u=8+\sqrt{65}=3^x
8+\sqrt{65}=3^x
if you take the log base 3 of both sides you get
log_3(8+\sqrt{65})=x
if you use ln then
ln(8+\sqrt{65})=xln(3)
then
\frac{ln(8+\sqrt{65})}{ln(3)}=x
