Word in this excerpt from Act II, scene IV, of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night which is a reference to a color-changing gemstone, hinting at Orsino's inconsistent nature is 'opal'.

Feste when compares Orsino to taffeta, he suggests that Orsino should display what he is in person through his clothing. Feste expresses his view that Orsino is "changeable" and that "thy mind is a very [opal.]" Therefore, he concludes that Orsino is someone that he cannot be relied upon just like an opal, which looks in different colors from different angles. Hence as an opal, Orsino change is perspective with what encounters him. As Orsino has no directions, therefore, Feste suggests his life be well suited on the sea "put to sea" as it will takin his "intent" wherever it would.

Dear mr Judge,

I heared about tom's conviction ,igot to know that you are charging him for man slauter that is ten years in prison. Below i am giving reason why you should change his conviction.

The murder commited was as an act of self defence, Tom was just trying to defend himslf while a person attempted to murder him.

Imagine a person trying to stab you with a knife. At that point please get that he was desperate to survive and i dont blame him for it. In the process of trying to escape he hit him with the head with a bottle, not with the intention to kill him but unfortunately for the.......... he did not survive.

Sir i hope you have a second thought. Tom does not deserve to go to jail.

Your's faithfully

In at least two hundred words, explain how the ending of the story is an example of situational irony.
miskamm [114]

The facts that are told at the end of the story are in sharp contrast to those that unleash the tragedy that Desiree and her son have to live. Only in the last few lines we discover that her husband knows the true cause of the dark color of the child's skin, which derives from the color of his own mother and has nothing to do with the unknown facts that cover the real origin of Desiree, since his filiation was not known from the beggining.

The irony is graphed in the fact that Desiree's husband could not have ignored that his mother was a dark-skinned woman, as he lived with her for the first eight years of his life and in addition to that, in the end, we also got to know that he was in possession of that letter that informed him the truth, in the probably event that he had forgotten it over the years.

The mistreatment he gave to his slaves was then the most important contradiction, although we can observe that his character softens after the birth of his son, even so having to see him daily was probably a permanent reminder of a shame he was trying to leave behind.

NEED ANSWER ASAP!!! Compare the written description of the Boston Massacre to the image depicting this historical event. Which d
Mademuasel [1]

Both the painting and the written description depict a scene where both sides of the conflict seem completely confused as to the real reason for what it turned out to be a deadly confrontation.

The written account elaborates somewhat methodically the actions that led, step by step to the escalation of what originally was nothing but an argument between a soldier or sentry and a robe maker. The perennial curiosity of the nearby masses and the somewhat well established intransigence of law enforcement individuals clashed drastically and led to a tragic result that could've been easily avoided if cooler heads had prevailed. The depiction of the man in charge of the soldiers as a man not fit for the job seems to confirm the fact that a more disciplined superior would've been able to restrain his forces until the situation or issue at stake was clarified among the quarreling parties.

Finally, the painting only depicts the firing of the lined up soldiers against a revolting crowd on the other side but provides no clues as to what was the reason that led to the moment being depicted when the bayonets are being fired at short range in a firing squad like manner.
