A prior study determined the point estimate of the population proportion as 58% ( = 0.58). The analysts decide to conduct a seco

nd study on the same topic and would like its margin of error, E, to be 4% when its confidence level is 95% (z*-score of 1.96).
What is the minimum sample size that should be used so the estimate of will be within the required margin of error of the population proportion?

Answer:

<em>Minimum Sample size  'n' = 585</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Explanation</u>:-

Given Estimate of the population proportion as 58% ( = 0.58)

P = 0.58

Given margin of error, E, to be 4%

M.E = 4 % = 0.04

<em>margin of error of the population proportion is determined by</em>

<em></em>M.E = \frac{Z_{\frac{\alpha }{2} }\sqrt{p(1-p)}  }{\sqrt{n} }<em></em>

Z- score = 1.96

0.04 = \frac{1.96\sqrt{0.58(1-0.58)}  }{\sqrt{n} }

Cross multiplication , we get

0.04 \sqrt{n} = 1.96 X  0.4935

\sqrt{n} = \frac{0.4935 X 1.96}{0.04} = 24.18

<em>Squaring on both sides, we get</em>

<em>n = 584.7≅585</em>

<u><em>Conclusion</em></u><u>:-</u>

<em>minimum Sample size  'n' = 585</em>

Abit is planning a birthday party for his granddad. He bought a cake for $18\$18$18dollar sign, 18. He also wants to buy some ba
Arturiano [62]

Answer:

$1.00

Step-by-step explanation:

Total Budget = $35

Cake Spent = $18

Remaining Money = 35 - 18 = $17

Since, each balloon is worth $4, to find how many balloons he will get with remaining money ($17), we divide the the remaining money by price of each balloon:

17/4 = 4.25

We can't have fractional balloons, so Abit can get 4 balloons, MAXIMUM.

4 balloons cost = $4 per balloon * 4 = $16

So, from $17 if he spends $16 for balloons, he will have left:

$17 - $16 = $1.00

3/5 of 7500 is 4500. That means 4500 chose coke. Now all u need to do is subtract 4500 from 7500 to get the amount of people that chose Pepsi. The answer would be 3000

Mai spends 7 and 3/5 hours in school each day. Her lunch period is 30 minutes long, and she spends a total of 42 minutes switchi
Sonja [21]
First, we solve for the number of minutes in 7 and 3/5 hours by multiplying the number by 60 giving us,
                            (7 + 3/5) x (60) = 456 minutes
Spending 30 minutes for lunch will leave her with 426 minutes. Then, spending 42 minutes for switching of classes will finally give her 414 minutes.

We then divide this value by 6 (for her 6 classes) giving us 69 minutes. Thus, each class is 69 minutes long.
