The function d=0.006s squared represents the braking distances d in meters of a car at a speed s in kilometer per second.Graph t
Molodets [167]

Answer:

Part 1) The graph in the attached figure

Part 2) The value of s is approximately 45 km/sec

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>The complete question is</em></u>

The function d=0.006s² represents the braking distances d in meters of a car at a speed s in kilometer per second.Graph the function. Then use your graph to estimate the speed of the car if its braking distance is 12 meters

Part 1) Graph the function

Let

s ----> the speed in kilometers per second

d ----> the braking distances in meters

we have

d=0.006s^2

This is a quadratic equation (vertical parabola) open upward (the leading coefficient is positive)

The vertex represent a minimum

The vertex is the origin

The axis of symmetry is the y-axis

Find the values of d for different values of s

so

For s=0 km/sec ----> d=0.006(0)^2=0\ m ---> point (0,0)

For s=20 km/sec ----> d=0.006(20)^2=2.4\ m ---> point (20,2.4)

For s=30 km/sec ----> d=0.006(30)^2=5.4\ m ---> point (30,5.4)

For s=40 km/sec ----> d=0.006(40)^2=9.6\ m ---> point (40,9.6)

For s=50 km/sec ----> d=0.006(50)^2=15\ m ---> point (50,15)

To graph the function plot the points and connect them

see the attached figure

Part 2) Use your graph to estimate the speed of the car if its braking distance is 12 meters

Looking at the graph

For d=12 m

The value of s is approximately 45 km/sec

see the attached figure

A triangle has interior angles measuring 36° and 112°. Which triangles are similar to this triangle? Select True or False for ea
morpeh [17]
Hi there!

Since the interior measures of triangles added up always equals 180 degrees, the other interior angle of the triangle must be 32 degrees.

180 - 112 - 36 = 32

So, any triangle with interior measures that measure any angles of 36, 112, and 32 degrees are similar.

<span>triangle with interior angles measuring 36° and 32° - true
triangle with interior angles measuring 36° and 148° - false
triangle with interior angles measuring 32° and 112° - true
triangle with interior angles measuring 112° and 148 - </span>false

Hope this helps!

Which table can be created using the equation below? –2 + 4x = y A 2-column table with 3 rows. Column 1 is labeled x with entrie
Pachacha [2.7K]

The correct answer is C. A 2-column table with 3 rows. Column 1 is labeled x with entries negative 5, 0, 3. Column 2 is labeled y with entries negative 18, negative 2, 10.

Explanation:

The purpose of an equation is to show the equivalence between two mathematical expressions. This implies in the equation "–2 + 4x = y" the value of y should always be the same that -2 + 4x. Additionally, if a table is created with different values of x and y the equivalence should always be true. This occurs only in the third option.

   x                 y

   5                -18

   0                -2

   3                 10

First row:

-2 + 4 (5) = y  (5 is the value of x which is first multyply by 4)

-2 + 20 = -18 (value of y in the table)

Second row:

-2 + 4 (0) y

-2 + 0 = -2

Third row:

-2 + 4 (3) = y

-2 + 12 = 10
