Which has the greatest effect on the amount of salt in a salt marsh? These are the choices

a)the number of animals living in the marsh

b)the closeness of the marsh to the ocean

c)the depth of the water in the marsh

d)the temperature of the water in the marsh

Answer:

b)the closeness of the marsh to the ocean

Explanation:

Salt marsh is a vast area of  low, tidal flat topography situated along coastal regions, beaches etc, and are constantly  flooded  by the salt water or brackish water leading to accumulation of water on the area due to poor drainage. These areas of the ecosystem consists of plants (grasses and shrubs ) and animals which have special adaptations to survive such saline habitat.  since there is  occasional flooding by the water with high salt content, the closer a marsh is  to the water body,  the  higher the effect of the amount of salt in a salt marsh.

A commercial florist exposes her chrysanthemums—which are short-day plants—to a few minutes of red light during their daily dark
Svetllana [295]

Answer:

Red light act as a inhibitor and hence causes delay in flowering

Explanation:

Through Periodism phenomenon, the regulation in exposure to daylight for a certain time period can delay or enhance the flowering of the "light duration"sensitive plant.

When "short day plants" are exposed to light between  the essential long period of nights or dark period, the stage of flowering gets delayed.

Hence,  chrysanthemums on being exposed to red light during their daily darkness period lead  delay in flowering as red light act as an inhibitor.

Scientists at Russia’s Vostok Station in eastern Antarctica drilled the longest ice core ever recorded. They compiled this graph
Wittaler [7]
The data supports the fourth choice, that increasing air temperature and CO2 levels correlate with a decrease in dust concentration.

The first choice is unlikely to reflect dust concentration, and is more likely to be for air temperature. The second choice is false, because the dust concentration is more of a decreasing trend. The third choice is not true, as the spikes in air temperature and atmospheric CO2 concentrations seem to occur simultaneously, implying a positive correlation.

In a resting state, sodium (na+) is at a higher concentration outside the cell and potassium (k+) is more concentrated inside th
Anika [276]
The sodium levels increase inside the cell during action potential. Opposite to resting state, depolarization is the shift of electrical charge resulting in positive charge inside the cell. Depolarization is the start of cell-to-cell communication and other necessary physiological functions of an organism.
