It can also be concluded that <em>species B snake is a better fit - than species A snake - for the new environment resulting from the destruction of the initial environment.</em>

The fitness of species B can be attributed to either their natural fitness to the new environment due to evolution or their ability to outcompete species A in the environment. The reduction in fitness of species A leads to their gradual fading off of the new environment while the fitness of species B leads to them reproducing and contributing more to the population of snakes in the environment.
