Columbus lived in the time when Europe interested in discoveries and ideas. Renaissance gave birth to individualism, humanism, also helped at the beginning of the exploration (voyages) in Europe. The age of exploration started in the 15th century when European began exploring seas and oceans in hunt of trading wealth and routes. The journey to find India led Christopher Columbus to discover the New World in 1492. He marked the start of colonization and conquest to find wealth and new lands by exploring the seas.
