Grace is going to a carnival that has games and rides. Each game costs $1.50 and each ride costs $2.50. Grace spent $16.50 altog

ether at the carnival and the number of games she played is twice the number of rides she went on. Write a system of equations that could be used to determine the number of games Grace played and the number of rides Grace went on.

Answer:

Number of Rides:     5.5R = 16.5

Number of Games:    1.5G  = 9

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Represent the games with G and the Rides with R

G = 1.50 -- cost

R = 2.50 --- cost

Total = 16.50 -- cost

Required

Represent the system using an equation

The equation can be represented as follows;

G + R = Total

Assume She plays G games and had R rides, we have

1.5G + 2.5R = 16.5

Since she plays twice as much games as rides,

This implies;

G = 2R

So, we have

1.5 * 2R + 2.5R = 16.5

3R + 2.5R = 16.5

5.5R = 16.5 --- This equation can be used to solve for Number of Rides

Solving further

R =16.5/5.5

R =3

Substitute 3 for R in 1.5G + 2.5R = 16.5

1.5G + 2.5 * 3 = 16.5

1.5G + 7.5 = 16.5

Solve for 1.5G

1.5G  = 16.5 - 7.5

1.5G = 9 --- This equation can be used to solve for Number of Games

Solving further

G = 9/1.5

G = 6

Three students, Linda, Tuan, and Javier, are given five laboratory rats each for a nutritional experiment. Each rat's weight is
Liula [17]

Answer:

The variance in weight is statistically the same among Javier's and Linda's rats

The null hypothesis will be accepted because the P-value (0.53 ) > ∝ ( level of significance )

Step-by-step explanation:

considering the null hypothesis that there is no difference between the weights of the rats, we will test the weight gain of the rats at 10% significance level with the use of Ti-83 calculator

The results from the One- way ANOVA  ( Numerator )

with the use of Ti-83 calculator

F = .66853

p = .53054

Factor

df = 2  ( degree of freedom )

SS = 23.212

MS = 11.606

Results from  One-way Anova ( denominator )

Ms = 11.606

Error

df = 12 ( degree of freedom )

SS = 208.324

MS = 17.3603

Sxp = 4.16657

where : test statistic = 0.6685

             p-value = 0.53

             level of significance ( ∝ ) = 0.10

The null hypothesis will be accepted because the P-value (0.53 ) > ∝

where Null hypothesis H0 = ∪1 = ∪2 = ∪3

hence The variance in weight is statistically the same among Javier's and Linda's rats

zlopas [31]

Answer:

1. he eats 5 per day (5 less every day)

2. he starts with 83 pieces of candy

3. 53

4. on day 11

Step-by-step explanation:

1. self explanatory

2. self explanatory

3. 6*-5=-30 -30+83=53

4. put y as 28

28=-5x + 83 now solve for x

subtract 83 both sides

-55=-5x

divide -5 from both sides

11=x
