He explains precisely what he thinks. Thus his basic intelligence, logical reasoning and lucid expression are highlighted. He showed the sparks of genius even at a young age.

Pathos in English refers to 'emotions'. In the term of rhetorical appeal, it makes a broader sense to the audience and the way in which they react.
