Which equation represents the line that passes through the points (6, –3) and (–4, –9)?
Delvig [45]
(6,-3)(-4,-9)
slope(m) = (-9 -(- 3) / (-4 - 6) = (-9 + 3) / -10 = -6/-10 = 3/5

y - y1 = m(x - x1)
slope(m) = 3/5
(6,-3)....x1 = 6 and y1 = -3
now we sub
y - (-3) = 3/5(x - 6) =
y + 3 = 3/5(x - 6) <==

If 16=x/20 then x equals..

please explain the steps on how to do this problem
Leona [35]
Hello! I believe the answer is x = 320 ?
Here's how I got this :

Since 16 = x/20, why don't we multiply 16(20)? That way, we figure out what you divided by 20 to get 16.

          16 (20) = 320

320/16 = 20  and 320/20 = 16!

Walter has 124 bills consisting of 5 dollar bills and 10 dollar bills. If his total amount of money is $840, how many bills of e
lawyer [7]
Well lets see...If we did the math about the total ammount of bills we will make a formula starting off as 5(124-x)-10x=840 and using the 5 dollar bills equal to x
distribute the 5 first for 620-5X-10X=840 840 minus 620 gives us 220 and divide 220 by 5 which will give us 44 5 dollar bills, now we do the 10 dollar bills. let Y=10 for the next equation of 5Y+10Y=840, substitute the 10Y with your answer for 5 resulting in 5Y+10(44)=840 10 times 44 is 440 and now subtract 440 from 840 resulting in 5Y=400 divide the 400 by 5 and get a new answer of Y equals 80 for ten dollar bills
X=44
Y=80
44+80=124
