Answer:

Volume of box is 432 in^3

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the side of square corner

Length of box after cutting corners =22-2x

Breadth of box after cutting corners =15-2x

Height =x

Volume of box = (22-2x)(15-2x)x

Volume of box =4x^3-74x^2+330x

Differentiate w.r.t x

\frac{dV}{dx}=12x^2-148x+330

Substitute derivative =0

12x^2-148x+330=0\\x=\frac{37-\sqrt{379}}{6},\frac{37+\sqrt{379}}{6}\\\frac{d^2V}{dx^2}=24x-148

at x=\frac{37-\sqrt{379}}{6}

\frac{d^2V}{dx^2}=24x-148=24(\frac{37-\sqrt{379}}{6} )-148=-77.87 < 0 hence maximum

at  x=\frac{37+\sqrt{379}}{6}

\frac{d^2V}{dx^2}=24x-148=24(\frac{37+\sqrt{379}}{6} )-148=77.87>0 hence minimum

So,Volume of box =4x^3-74x^2+330x=4(\frac{37-\sqrt{379}}{6} )^3-74(\frac{37-\sqrt{379}}{6} )^2+330(\frac{37-\sqrt{379}}{6} )=432.23 in^3

Hence Volume of box is 432 in^3

You just measured a sugar cube and obtained the following information: mass = 3.48 g height = length = width = 1.3 cm Determine
nignag [31]

Answer:     Volume of sugar cube=2.20 cm³

Density of sugar cube = 1.60 g/cm³.

The sugar cube will sink.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Mass of cube = 3.48 g

Also, dimension of sugar cube :

height = length = width = 1.3 cm

Since , the volume of cube = (side)³

Volume of sugar cube=(1.3) ³= 2.197 ≈ 2.20 cm³

Also, Density = \dfrac{\text{Mass}}{\text{Volume}}

⇒ Density of sugar cube = \dfrac{3.48}{2.2}=1.5818\approx1.60\ g/cm^3

∴ Density of sugar cube = 1.60 g/cm³.

It is known that the density of water is 1 g/cm³.

Here , density of sugar cube >  density of water

⇒ The sugar cube will sink .

3/4 of a piece of metal has a mass of 15kg.what is the mass of 2/5 of the piece of metal
olga2289 [7]
3/4=15
let,
total mass is x
x=4×15/3
=20 kg
so, total mass = 20 kg

=2×20/5
=2×4
=8 kg

Hope this helps!

Kim is reading a book with 380 pages. She read 20 pages each day until she reached Part 2 of the book. Part 2 of the book is 160
d1i1m1o1n [39]
If you divide 380 by 20, you get 19. To check this, multiply 20 x 19 to see 380. Hope this helps :D

Yes; it is possible

<span>If the planes are parallel to each other then they don't intersect. </span>

<span>There can also be two or more lines on different planes which do not intersect each other. These lines are called skew lines.</span>
