The correct answer to this open question is the following.

You forgot to include image number 2. However, doing some research we can say the following.

The image illustrates the spread of scientific knowledge in the period before 1450 in that it shows the Muslim presence in different bedrooms where sick lies on the bed. The image illustrates that Arab people that practiced Islam also had medical knowledge resulted from the many exchanges with other cultures and nations. Scientific research in the Arab world was more advanced and quickly spread all over other regions in the Middle East, North Africa, and some eastern European regions.

shusha [124]

Answer:

The two lines from Passage 1 which suggest that the Statue of Liberty is a symbol of freedom and refuge are:

"Line 10: With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor..."

"Line 14: I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Explanation:

For each key term or person in the lesson, write a sentence explaining its significance.
Luden [163]
O protect against the attacks of the Enlightenment, government and church authorities waged a war of censorship, or restricting access to ideas and information.
New literature, the arts, science, and philosophy were regular topics of discussions in salons, or informal social gatherings at which writers, artists, philosophies, and others exchanged ideas.
In the age of Louis XIV, courtly art and architecture were either in the Greek or Roman tradition or in grand, ornate style known as baroque.
Rococo art moved away from religion and, unlike the heavy splendor of baroque, was lighter, elegant, and charming.

Frederick the Great reduced the use of torture, allowed a free press, reorganized the government's civil service, simplified laws, and tolerated religious differences for his duty to work for the common good.
Catherine the Great read the works of philosophies, abolished torture, established religious tolerance in her lands, granted nobles a charter of rights, and criticized the institution of serfdom.
Joseph II began to modernize Austria's government, supported religious equality for Protestants and Jews, ended censorship by allowing free press, sold monasteries to use its proceeds to support education and care for the sick, and abolished serfdom.

Next, write a half-page essay comparing and contrasting a modern song and musician you admire with one of the songs you listened
Wittaler [7]

Answer:

Traditional music and modern music have many differences but they also have some similarities. Nowadays, besides developing modern music, the preservation and development of traditional music play a very important part in musical life in Vietnam.

Explanation:

Types of music are many and all musicians play and compose various types of music. It is not difficult to know about popular contemporary musicians nowadays. However, “how to distinguish between contemporary musicians and folk musicians in the past” is a hard question to answer. This essay will discuss their similarities, their differences and how music is evolving in Vietnam.

Traditional/folk music and modern music have a few similarities. Traditional music was similar to how life was, during the time period. Modern music shows emotion or describes people in everyday life. Folk musicians play from memory. They've learned music through hearing others play it. Contemporary musicians also can be influenced by older musicians or artists from a bygone era. However, they play music by the notes.

The first difference is about the musical instruments. There are many different kinds of instruments. Contemporary musicians play modern instruments. In modern music you notice the instruments but pay attention to the lyrics of the songs. Folk musicians play traditional instruments. Listening to classical music you may notice more instruments playing. Another difference is the musicians’ income. The income for a professional contemporary musician can be huge when being a folk musician will never make them rich.

Music plays a major role in Vietnamese life. Vietnamese music history is long and complex. It was handed down from one generation to another. Traditional Vietnamese music is highly diverse, combining native and foreign influences. Its history has been impacted by the musical tradition from China, Korea , and Japan… Songs written by popular musicians were heard by a great number of people through the radio, TV, internet... Song writers were also able to capture many aspects of life and share them with the public. Music had a major impact on people’s life, politicians, and the public during the Vietnam history .

Traditional music and modern music have many differences but they also have some similarities. Nowadays, besides developing modern music, the preservation and development of traditional music play a very important part in musical life in Vietnam.
