The assignment for this lesson is to read a passage and answer the following questions: What inference can you make from this pa
kramer

After reading the passage above, one can infer that it belongs to an article or an essay which purpose is to inform the reader about the population boom and its consequences (cause-effect writing). The writer developed the main event in the introduction of the passage and then added supporting sentences about the consequences of that main event. The population is growing in cities such as San Antonio, Phoenix, and Los Angeles and this event has serious effects on the desert environment of these cities mentioned earlier, being the most obvious one the water shortages. The reader can infer all this information thanks to the organization of the text and the words or connectors used. The organization that has been used by the writer is The Casual Chain (one effect is a cause of another effect, which in turn can become a cause of another effect, and so on) and some of the words/connectors chosen to describe the relationship of the events are “result”, “Because…,”, and “concern”.

Answer:

Always be careful about purchasing expensive items, is the item really a necessity for you or will you actually use this item often? Maybe your just buying it to stay "with it" socially. Make sure you do some research about available varieties and some research about cist and reliability of various brands. You should also consider the cost of running the item, since you don't want to be stuck with a "lemon". You never know, it may use a lot of electricity or gas, maybe then you'll have even more expense then the purchase price. These are just a few things to consider because buying an expensive item requires care.

Hope this helps

forsale [732]

Of the options provided, that which is not a property of the mean is;

 • The mean is most subject to sampling variation.

Of all the measures of central tendencies, the mean is the least subject to sampling variation. The mean is the average of scores and it is symbolized by Xbar.

When used in reference to a whole population, the mean is represented as μ. The mean is the average of a set of scores.

Some other properties of the mean include that the sum of the deviations about the mean is equal to zero, the mean is affected by extreme scores, and the mean is sensitive to the exact value of the scores in a distribution.
