Respond to all parts of the question. In your response, use substantive examples where appropriate. Education plays a crucial ro

le in providing opportunity for citizens and advancing American society. Most education policy is made at the state and local levels, which restricts the federal government's role in education to providing supplemental funding for educational programs. At some point, however, the federal government expanded its role by setting requirements for schools to meet certain standards in order to receive federal financial support. Using your knowledge of how federalism affects policy making, develop an argument on whether the federal government's role in education should be expanded. Use at least one piece of evidence from one of the following foundational documents: The Federalist 10 Brutus 1

Answer and Explanation:

Given that we live in a federative republic, where state and local governments must share responsibility with the federal government, I believe that the role of the federal government in education should not be expanded, but the role of state and local governments. This is because the federal government knows the educational needs of the national territory in a generalized way, and may not, in fact, meet the needs of each region. However, state and local governments know this need in a more specific and complete way, in this case, the increase in the roles of this government with education can be much more profitable and advantageous than the increase in the role of the federal government.

2. During a chemical reaction, 47 grams of baking soda is combined with 13 grams of vinegar. The total mass of the product is 56
bearhunter [10]

Answer:

No, the reaction was not carried out in a closed system

Explanation:

Recall that a closed system is one in which there is no exchange of materials nor energy. Hence there is no movement of matter in or out of the system. The total mass and energy present in the system is constant.

On the reactant side we have that the total mass of baking soda and vinegar is 47g + 13 g = 60g.

However on the product side, we have only a total of 56g which implies that a mass of 4g was lost in the reaction. This loss of mass can not happen in a closed system.

Hence the system is not a closed system because some mass was lost.

Mrs. Nguyen agrees with the following statement: As I get older, things are better than I thought they d be. Mrs. Nguyen s self-
marishachu [46]

Answer: a) is an example of stereotype threat

Explanation:

A stereotype threat is <em>when people might conform to stereotypes about their social groups</em> (in this case, the social group of "older people").

Conforming to this stereotype can be risky, because it might cause certain social groups to <em>"underperform"</em>, to perform less than their actual potential. It's good that Mrs. Nguyen has formed her own opinion about getting older and <em>she hasn't submitted to the general perception of about "getting older". </em>
