Answer: The cities in the second half of the nineteenth century represented both best and worst of American life in such a way that: The cities were more established as citizens could enjoy cheaper and better products. The introduction of factories and industries overtook the small farmers.

The industries were more along the city as compared to the urban land which lead to migration of people from urban land to the cities.

There were skyscrapers, light bulbs and other technologies available to the people.

The worst part was small farmers now had no source of income. The people lived so closed in the city that the disease could not easily spread because of overcrowding.

Pollution started increasing, corruption, disease and crime were some of the problems which was faced by America in the second half of the nineteenth century.

Social Darwinism really ought to be called "Spencerism," after Herbert Spencer, who began such thoughts.  Spencer and Charles Darwin were rivals, not allies. The term "survival of the fittest" is actually a Spencer term, which he applied to human beings.  (Darwin used the term "natural selection" in reference to biological species.)  The ideas of what came to be known as "Social Darwinism" is that some people are just better and more fit to succeed than other, so they ought to succeed and rule over the less-talented members of the human species (like poor people).  Industry titans (sometimes referred to as "robber barons") used the ideas of Social Darwinism to justify their dominating ways over common laborers.

SashulF [63]
The answer is B. In the Miranda Rights that was set up by the Supreme Court you’re entitled to legal representation in court and it’s up to the states to establish a public defender’s office since cases are heard in courts that are either city or state. Gideon’s case set a precedence for future case law...his case sets the standard for when this particular situation arises and it cannot be contested.
