The answer is
w = 6 in
l = 16 in
h = 12 in

The volume of a rectangular prism with length l, width w, and height h is:
V = l * w * h

V = 1152 in³

After some internet research, I found out that:
l = 2w + 4
h = 18 - w

So,
V = l * w * h
1152 = (2w + 4) * w * (18 - w)

Multiply the first two factors:
1152 = (2w² + 4w) * (18 - w)

Multiply two remaining factors:
1152 = 36w² + 72w - 2 w³ - 4w²

Rearrange:
-2w³ + 36w² - 4w² + 72w = 1152
-2w³ + 32w² + 72w = 1152
-2w³ + 32w² + 72w - 1152 = 0

Divide all by 2:
-w³ + 16w² + 36w - 576 = 0

Multiply by (-1):
w³ - 16w² - 36w + 576 = 0

Rearrange:
(w³ - 36w) - (16w² - 576) = 0

Factor:
w * w² - w * 36 - (16 * w² - 16 * 36) = 0
w(w² - 36) - 16(w² - 36) = 0
(w - 16)(w² - 36) = 0
(w - 16)(w² - 6²) = 0
(w - 16)(w - 6)(w + 6) = 0

So, w - 16 = 0, or w - 6 = 0, or w + 6 = 0.
In other words: w = 16, or w = 6, or w = -6.

Width cannot be negative, so w ≠ -6.
If w = 16, then l = 2 * 16 + 4 = 32 + 4 = 36 and h = 18 - 16 = 2
But, since the height must be greater than the width (h > w), w ≠ 16

If w = 6, then l = 2 * 6 + 4 = 12 + 4 = 16 and h = 18 - 6 = 12.
Thus:
w = 6 in
l = 16 in
h = 12 in

At the same time, the sun casts a shadow on the girl and tree creating two similar right triangles. You can use a ratio of girl's height to her shadow will be the same as the tree's height to it's shadow.

5 / 2.5 = T / 14.5
2 = T / 14.5
2 * 14.5 = T
29 ft = Tree

MrRissso [65]

To find the mean of the data, you will combine all values together and then spread them all out evenly to create one value that represents the data.

In math this involves adding the data together and then dividing the sum by how many pieces of data there are.

682 + 601 + 744 + 674 + 701 + 790 + 676 + 638 + 773 = 6279

6279/9 = 697.66...

The rounded credit score is 698 (Choice A).

A statistics practitioner in a large university is investigating the factors that affect salary of professors. He wondered if ev
Ulleksa [173]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello!

Given the linear regression of Y: "Annual salary" as a function of X: "Mean score on teaching evaluation" of a population of university professors. It is desired to study whether student evaluations are related to salaries.

The population equation line is

E(Y)= β₀ + β₁X

Using the information of a n= 100 sample, the following data was calculated:

R²= 0.23

                Coefficient    Standard Error

Intercept    25675.5           11393

x                  5321                  2119

The estimated equation is

^Y= 25675.5 + 5321X

Now if the interest is to test if the teaching evaluation affects the proffesor's annual salary, the hypotheses are:

H₀: β = 0

H₁: β ≠ 0

There are two statistic you can use to make this test, a Student's t or an ANOVA F.

Since you have information about the estimation of  β you can calculate the two tailed t test using the formula:

t= \frac{b - \beta }{\frac{Sb}{\sqrt{n} } } ~t_{n-2}

t= \frac{ 5321 - 0 }{\frac{2119}{\sqrt{100} } } = 25.1109

The p-value is two-tailed, and is the probability of getting a value as extreme as the calculated t_{H_0} under the distribution t_{98}

p-value < 0.00001

I hope it helps!
