Mackenzie works as a salesperson at an electronics store and sells phones and phone accessories. Mackenzie earns a $10 commissio

n for every phone she sells and a $4 commission for every accessory she sells. On a given day, Mackenzie made a total of $126 in commission and sold 7 more accessories than phones. Write a system of equations that could be used to determine the number of phones sold and the number of accessories sold. Define the variables that you use to write the system.

X - Phones.
Y - Phone accessories. $ = 10x + 4y.

If she sold 7 phones, she would have to sell 14 accessories. 126 = 10(7) + 4(14). 70 + 56 = 126.

The formula s = StartRoot StartFraction S A Over 6 EndFraction EndRoot gives the length of the side, s, of a cube with a surface
never [62]

Answer:

2\sqrt{2}\ ft\ longer

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Area Of A Cube </u>

Suppose a cube with side length s, the area of one side is

A_s=s^2

Since the cube has 6 sides, the total area is

A=6A_s=6s^2

But if we have the area, we can solve the above formula for s to get

A=6s^2

\displaystyle s=\sqrt{\frac{A}{6}}

We have two different cubes with areas 1,200 square inches and  768 square inches. Let's compute their side lengths

\displaystyle s_1=\sqrt{\frac{1,200}{6}}=\sqrt{200}

\displaystyle s_1=10\sqrt{2}\ ft

\displaystyle s_2=\sqrt{\frac{768}{6}}=\sqrt{128}

\displaystyle s_2=8\sqrt{2} ft

The difference between them is

10\sqrt{2}\ ft-8\sqrt{2}\ ft=2\sqrt{2}\ ft\approx 2.83\ ft

The side of the cube with area 1,200 square inches is 2\sqrt{2}\ ft longer then the side of the cube with area 768 square inches

X^2/81 + y^2/64 = 1 The major intercepts are at (±9, 0) (±8, 0) (0, ±9)
Inessa [10]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Your question is unclear. What are "major intercepts"?

x²/81 + y²/64 = 1

The major axis is horizontal.

0²/81 + y²/64 = 1

y-intercepts = ±8

x²/81 + 0/64 = 1

x-intercepts = ±9

Ruth has 12 feet of ribbon.
Shkiper50 [21]

Answer:

See I don't know the answer but I did another one like this if it doesn't help you can report it no problem

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 2 different ways you can solve this problem and you'll get the same answer.

To help you visualize what you have to do, it might be easiest to translate your problem to a unit that easier to use.

Since you only have a ribbon 5 feet long, but you must cut it into 6 pieces, you know it won't even be 1 foot long.

One way to solve the problem would be to translate your 5-foot ribbon into a ribbon divided into inches.

1 foot = 12 inches

To find out how many inches long your ribbon is, you'll need to multiply the number of feet by 12.

Once you know that, then you can more easily divide it by 6. This will tell you how many inches each ribbon is.

Careful! the answer is to be put into feet so once you know how many inches long the ribbon is, you must then divide by 12 to get the correct answer in feet. Don't forget to round to the nearest tenth.

Another way to solve the problem is to simply divide the 5 feet by the number 6 and then round your number to the nearest tenth. It may be harder to visualize the answer this way, but you will get the same answer as if you translated your ribbon into inches and then divided by 12.

Good luck! I hope this helps!
