For a student to have inherited left handedness from parents who are both right handed, it means that the left-handed trait is recessive in both parents.

The pattern of inheritance of handedness can, thus, said to be simple dominant/recessive with the right handedness trait being dominant while the left handedness is recessive.

Let us assume that right-handedness is represented by the allele A and left-handedness by the allele a.

The two parents are heterozygous, hence, their genotypes each would be Aa.

                Aa   x   Aa

            AA   Aa   Aa   aa

From the cross, 3/4 of their children would be right handed (AA or Aa) while 1/4 would be left handed (aa). The student in question must have been from the 1/4.

How do sodium and potassium leak channels play a role in the development of the negative membrane potential of the axolemma (pla
kirza4 [7]
The plasma membrane of axon is called axolemma. The potassium and sodium leak channels leak the sodium and potassium ions inside the cell respectively. The leak channels provide the constant movement of ions across the membrane. Potassium and sodium ions are positively charged, thus entry of positively charged ions inside the cell makes the cell more positively charged than the environment outside the cell. The environment outside the cell becomes more negatively charged. This leads in the negative membrane potential of axolemma.
